Voila! Thank you P1LGRIM! Followed your steps at the end and was able to boot properly. Had to do a black screen fix and I think the kexts that I added worked!
I installed Sierra using the bootable USB and everything seems to be working so far. Just have to install all the necessary files. Will update with further info soon.
THANK YOU!!
Thanks for that. I found the most up to day version and added it to the other folder, but to no avail. I also created a bootable USB using Unibeast and will update if that works.
I added a photo in my previous reply with what it looks like in verbose and safe. A lot of "invalid sandbox profile" calls.
I do have everything backed up yes. How do I go about installing sierra over my existing install? Is there a guide I can follow?
Yea I turned off verbose mode and it did in fact go back to the Apple Logo. Do I need to delete any kexts or remove any information aside from the config in order to possibly remedy this issue?
Btw, thank you for the help so far.
Just removed the 1070 and attempted to boot the installer and got pretty much the same effect. If I boot without injected kexts I get an "unable to start IOHIDDevice" at the end before it just halts and I have to force restart the system. If I choose with selected options I get "Sound assertion...
Would really appreciate a response. I have attached photos while in verbose mode to hopefully give people an idea of what issue I am possibly having.
Edit: not sure why the images uploaded upside down...
Is there an alternate way of upgrading to Sierra by way of USB? I would really appreciate any help as I really want to get my 1070 finally working with OSX.
Unless there is a way to get it working with El Capitan, I really only care about upgrading because of this.
I seem to be having a problem upgrading to Sierra from El Capitan. I followed the guide by just downloading Sierra from the app store and then adding FakeSMC to my "/other" folder. When I select the Install macOS option from the boot loader I get a progress bar that fills but takes a long time...
Was able to figure out a workaround to my issue. I used an elevated command prompt using Windows to open and swap the drivers in my EFI partition and I can finally boot back into OSX. Though this isn't 100% on every boot. I sometimes get an immediate prohibited sign that pops up every couple...
I must have done something wrong here, I can't boot into OSX anymore and every time I try I get this error to show up when booting into verbose mode.
How can I fix this issue? I want to see if switching out the driver will fix it, but I can't boot to the drive at all. I tried accessing the EFI...
Nevermind, I just went ahead and installed it to the Acer and I am on my way to having it all set up. Only issues I'm facing are getting the keyboard and track pad to work and getting my 5500 gfx to use more than 7mb. Other than that, I seem to have got it.
