Ok, so I have 10.10.5 up and running well on my 6 disk appleraid 1+0 setup.
What would be the easiest way to get windows up and running on this? Should I use bootcamp? Should I try to install windows 10 on a different drive then use clover to boot to it? If so does anyone have a handy link how...
Sorry its been a while since ive been on here. Nothing special in bios besides disabling what the guide said. (the serial port?) Make sure you are in AHCI mode, my bios is the most recent one.
Make sure you do like he said and copy/paste the commands into a simple text editor before running...
Make sure you install clover on your boot HD and copy over the post install efi folder. The nvidia driver wont work when booting off the clover flash drive because nvidia disable flag on it.
I figured out the clover options with appleraid.... seems the EFI partition switches drives or something, or acts like it anyway.
I got about 22k in 32bit geekbench, can anyone runs theirs in 32bit and let me know what score you get?
Also I did get the HWMonitor working, but sadly it doesnt...
So I can't figure out how to change clover options when booting off RAID. I built my RAID set my making 2 Mirrors and then striping them together in disk utility, then I installed clover on the raid as a whole, and then copied over the post install EFI folder into the EFI partitions on each...
I wonder how much faster, if any, using a software raid card is than just using SoftRaid? Because honestly I was blown away by how easy it was to get that up and booting EFI with clover.
What is the common disk speed test used with OSX? Because I wouod like to test my 4 disk Samsung 850 evo...
Personally I think AsRock boards are the way to go. Their price to features is off the charts, I have never had any quality issues with them, and their Bios always seem straight foreward with plenty of options, unlike many other boards that seem to want treat you like they are your nanny.
Last...
Honestly native support doesnt seem like that huge of a deal. So you are missing some power management features..... There is a big drop in electrical usage when the processor is idling, and if you are concerned that isnt enough, just shut down the computer when you are not using it. My X99...
I didnt delete the old files when I used multibeast, didnt know it didnt overwrite files. The first time when I followed your directions I definately used the kext wizard. I can definately go back and delete the fake smc hwmonitor kexts in the S/L/E folder. If I delete the 3 kexts and replace...
I installed HWMonitor as per your guide the first time and it simply didnt open, it gave some vauge message the first time about it not being installed correctly, so I redid it and ran the file permission fix twice and got the same thing. Next time I installed it off the newest version of...
I honestly dont see the point....
5820k $300 4.3-4.5Ghz 6 core. 25.8-27/300 = 0.086 - 0.09
5960x $1000 4.3-4.5Ghz 8 core. 34.4-36/1000 = 0.034 - 0.036
2699 ~$4000 2.3Ghz 18 core. 41.4/4000 = 0.01035
Obviously the 5820k takes the cake in performance per dollar, about 9x as much performance...
Thanks for the guide! This hackintosh guide works great for the AsRock x99 Extreme4!
I did have to use one of the Intel Ethernet kexts off MultiBeast but audio and Ethernet is working great now. The Ethernet does take an unusually long time to DHCP in after boot, but it is like a minute or...
So the major stuff is all up and working, but I was wondering about the 6.1 smbios, you have a patch to make it work, and say it might have to be rerun every time you update graphics drivers, but what advantages does the 6.1 smbios have over the 3.1 version? Is it faster or more stable?
Thanks a TON for that! I FINALLY managed to get it installed with your great guide!
Now I seem to be a bit stuck at installing the web drivers for my 980GTX. About half the time I start up or shut down I am freezing up, so it never completes the switch to the web drivers.
Anyone? Anything? I'm dying here.....
I get the "missing bluetooth controller transport!" message followed by a string of errors like:
"session key is only available to application services"
"this key does not do anything:ondemand"
"the ServiceIPC key is no longer respeced. Please remove it"...
To Critza (or anyone with an asus x99E-WS board): Did you eventually get everything working with OSX 10.10 and your Asus X99E-WS board and 5960x CPU? And do you have the older model motherboard with USB 3.0 ports or the newer one with USB 3.1 ports? I am thinking about buying one of these...
