Did the guide exact step by step and have the recommended wifi card installed. Might rerun the drivers etc as I did add the card after install was done
****ty locks after sitting when put in sleep. So must be something to do with sleep mode then. I have it so it doesnt sleep when locked I thought so not sure if when I lock the system if it goes to sleep as well after sometime.
Thanks
Oh that way lol sorry, thought you meant shortcut keys.
So did that and was fine but tried to log in not waiting too long. Will try it again and sleep it and leave it sit for 5-10 minutes see if I can get back in, and if so, will try screen lock and let sit and see if ok that way as well after...
What would that be on a PC keyboard LOL. I have not changed any key mappings and always forget. Might need to get a MAC keyboard.
Also as a side note I have done in and ran the sudo command to turn off hibernate mode. Checked the sleep settings and have it turned off to put HDD to sleep etc...
What I mean is on the HP to lock the screen when you walk away as you would a PC by windows key L. On the clover HP you hit shift ctrl pause and it will lock it in the same way.
I will double check hibernate and a few other things as well. When it "locks up" and I cant get back in the fan spins...
I have successfully installed El Cap on a HP zbook and all is good and fine. Only issue I am having so far is when I lock the system, I can not get back in, it is like it freezes, anyone experience this or have this happnen? A reboot and I am back in and ok, but it seems like I cant lock the...
Install was done with broadcom, on my other system I did a full reinstall with card in and make no diff either. I just seem to get all the fun odd stuff. Will keep poking around and see wtf. Any ideas or anything from anyone would be great.
I also deleted and readded in sys prefs as well.
It is a brand new sealed wifi card, I ordered two of them, both the same thing.
IN network settings the wi-fi interface is there, can not be turned on. When go to turn it on does nothing, the wi-fi icon is in the task bar. Wi-fi toggle button does nothing.
Thank you
Lastly for the week, as I want to decide on what model I like osx best lol....
I am trying to install on a 9470m and all goes well then it comes to a screen showing a magic mouse and keyboard to power on, I cant get past this point.
Thanks
Has anyone tried a USB adapter and have it work, I bought a Asus ac/n usb adapter, and it has the osx install software, the "mac" see's the adapter in the hardware, the software is there, but the utility will not start.
Just trying different things as I wait for my Azurewave AW-CE123H...
Good day all,
I think you may be right as well with the mislabel or the no label at all on the wifi. I took everything apart again and double checked and from assumption it is more then likely a broadcom. Oddly enough, I took it out and put it in the 840 and did a reinstall, and I have no...
I will do a reinstall and see if I can do that and thanks. BTW I tried to turn on filefault and it destroyed the install, so I wouldnt advise turning that on.
BTW was looking and I might be blind but what is everyone using for wifi then in the 840's, or the laptops in general.
Thanks
Not being rude, but I DO! I have it working lol.
Anyways thanks and will leave this be and all good as this is going to go no where.
Heading to read post #1 ;)
Thanks
Understood, but still doesnt answer the curious question of the why ones works and the other doesn't. I am not arguing the fact that intel is or should be supported, but it is a good conversation and question as to the why.
Pic 1 is the 8470p, fully working no issues, and pic 2 is 840 not working.
