Stuck on the Apple Logo When Running the Installer

Hi all. Not sure if I should create a seperate thread or post here but nearly two years ago we built the build: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/family-first-time-build-project.147575/ Now having not updated the computer for ages I went to update to the newest version. Unfortunately I wasn't...

Quick Fix for Onboard Audio on 9 Series Motherboards

Interesting quirk for me with Multibeast 7.1.1 with ALC1150 + Audio ID: 2 installed is that when the computer wakes from sleep there is no audio. Also HDMI audio does not work. Any tips welcome as would be preferable not to have to restart the computer and be able to use sleep mode. Obviously...

Yeah thanks, had spotted that. Daughter is now playing minecraft on it with her friend as we speak. So seem to have succeeded. I needed to update the bios so I could set it as mentioned in that thread. No no luck with HDMI audio but otherwise things seem to be working pretty well! other...

MSI 9 Series Motherboards - OS X Setup and Configuration

Anyone had any luck getting HDMI audio to work? Have the line out connected which is ok (Except for after waking from sleep) but would obviously be more convenient to use just the one cable. Otherwise seem to have the Gaming 5 working well. Had to update the bios to 1.7 and then make sure CFG...

Doesn't seem to be so fun afterall. :headbang: Stuck on booting the Yosemite installation. Apple logo booting screen flashes up then computer restarts. Probably either motherboard not setup right (can't find cfg-lock in settings, maybe bios needs updating) or need to enter some advanced boot...

Installing the combo update sorted it. Maybe there was something really basic I wasn't doing and the update cleared it up. Now the fun begins...

No luck with the E2200. Then multibeast Yosemite / macIASL won't work on 10.6 it seems. Wifi fi card should arrive in a couple of days anyway. We were planning to get one anyway just didn't to start with to save money. Can then try again with e2200 when got whole system up to date and...

Thanks Adrian. Don't seem to be able to get the usb Ethernet to work so will probably just wait to order a network adapter. So don't think I'll need that.

Added info to profile. Yes iBoot Haswell. We have an A-link gigabit Ethernet usb 2.0 adapter. Silly I didn't think to try that. Unfortunately only get self assigned IP and the connection doesn't work. Not sure why. Don't have any more time to try right now. Any thoughts welcome. Cheers for...

Update... So far so good. Kind of half way through the process. The ram finally arrived today, computer powered on and managed to iboot the thing and install snow leopard. For some reason though the Ethernet connection isn't recognised and there was only modem connection and no internet...

Thanks for the tips. Just a quick update on our progress. Ended up getting the K version of the processor and have ordered the silver samsung dvd. Went for the Corsair RM650 and that's installed now. Rest will be added as it arrives. So shouldn't be too long before it's time to try...

Thanks for the quick replies! And good there doesn't look to be glaring problems with anything :headbang: That looks great. Cheaper too ;) Were there any complications with setting it up? Will check those out. I'm guessing the passively cooled ones will be a lot more expensive? Otherwise is...

    Family first time build project

We thought it'd be fun and maybe money saving to build our own computer. As well as teach the basics of computers to a technically interested kid. It'd be cool to have some feedback on things. Below is a first go at planning a "starter build". The idea is to start off with a minimum and expand...
