I think it was working all along. My graphics card must be one of those that needs a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter to do audio over HDMI, because after everything I did when I got one of those it started working.

I figured out why the automated script failed. I was stupid and forgot to mount the EFI partition. But even after running it, it says no HDEF found. I run it anyway, and it gave the attached results. Also, I got the IOReg stuff you wanted.

I think I'm going to go with the Gaming one anyway. It looks like the internal connectors are more in line with possible future plans. The watercooler capable slot on the Gaming is something I may use in the future. I'm also worried about this.
