SSD and General Buyer's Guide Question

I notice there are only two SSDs on the Buyer's Guide that aren't Crucial or Samsung brand. Is that just because those listed are the only ones known to work without issues? For that matter, I was wondering why some parts are listed up in the build types (CustoMac, CustoMac Pro, etc.) while the vast majority are only in the part lists at the bottom. Are those listed in the templates the most compatible, or simply the most recommended based on performance and price? Or are the others simply listed down below because listing every part in every category for every build template would be redundant and difficult to navigate?

Use any quality name brand SSD that you'd like. The suggested builds are just one example of what will work. Yes, your last sentence is true.
