Early Adopters > Mavericks on a Gigabyte H/Z97N-WIFI using HD4600 - No Graphics Card Needed!

Hi forum, I'd been having trouble with bluetooth since my original build, and I'd learned a lot since then, so I decided to do a fresh build with a new AW-NB290 installed! Now I'm having problems :) I can get past the first install fine with no boot params at all - the second phase of install...

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

Yeah I think this must be something else. I'm using onboard graphics - won't bother with a graphics card since I'm not a gamer.

Early Adopters > Mavericks on a Gigabyte H/Z97N-WIFI using HD4600 - No Graphics Card Needed!

Great post dude! I also have a newly minted Z97N-WIFI build. I didn't originally setup audio with AppleHDA via Multibeast - I just tried the kexts from 6.3.1 and it left me unbootable.. YMMV

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

The default AUTO option sets my RAM multiplier at x13 > 1333MHz. Setting XMP to profile1 sets the multiplier to x16 > 1600 MHz. When it's on auto it won't finish booting. I didn't set anything "manually" - just switched auto to profile1.

[Guide] Airport - PCIe Half Mini v2

Hello all, I've got a BCM 943225 HMB installed in a Z97N-WIFI, and cannot pair with a magic trackpad. I modified IOBluetoothFamily/Contents/Plugins/ BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSBTransport/Contents/Info.plist > "BroadcomUSBBluetoothHCIController - MediaLink BT4.0 Adapter": From System...

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

Quick followup for anyone coming to this later.. I updated to the F4 BIOS, as I was actually on F2. No dice. USB drives still kernel panic on mount. I tried disabling the XMP profile1 in the BIOS, but then the machine wouldn't boot at all.

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

Having a look around it seems I was wrong - F4 is the latest BIOS for this board: http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4993&dl=1&RWD=0#bios There's a few mentions of F4a around and about, but I can't find a download for it anywhere. What's the trick for acquiring...

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

Hey mystical, thanks for the reply. Very interesting! When I set up the hackintosh a couple weeks ago, I noted I was on an older BIOS - maybe F4 or something. I'll update to the latest stable, and then try tinkering with memory options. If/when that doesn't work, I can try a beta firmware...

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

Can anyone suggest what kexts from MultiBeast have an effect on USB Mass Storage? From there I can do some trial and error to attempt to figure this out.

IOUSBMassStorageClass kernel panic on USB drive mount

Hello all, A recent build with a Z97N-WIFI if working entirely fine now I replaced the bluetooth/wifi card with an AzureWave one... Except the kernel panic I get when I stick in a USB pen. Any ideas on how/where to go about fixing this? Thanks!

    Z97N New Build

@Solow, I'm guessing booting with the -x flag leaves your system semi-functional? iIe, no bluetooth, no spotlight? @Anyone, Am I right in thinking that Multibeast should install the appropriate kexts for getting the machine to subsequently boot without -x?

    Z97N New Build

@Solow2012 did you try booting with just the -x param? Interested to know how far that gets you. Interestingly your screenshot appears to show Bluetooth starting up correctly - mine doesn't start at all. I should probably note that during the OSX installer, Bluetooth was working (albeit badly)...

    Z97N New Build

Hey y'all, First post and stuff. Long time linux hacker, and first time hackintosher. The shop I bought from were all out of Z87's, so I bought a Z97 knowing the potential risks. Hardware Z97N i5 4670K 2x4GB Crucial Vengeance Sammy 840 SSD Installation Findings I didn't need to remove one...
