Great to be back... I have a P7P55D-E Pro Hack that I am trying to update to El Capitan. I was running 10.6.8 up until yesterday. I used the guide that you followed. I am having problems with getting the usb and extra hds recognized. I was wondering if anybody had a similar problem? Any ideas...

Good News is I was able to resolve this boot problem...

Just read through your info a bit more carefully and realize Im not supposed to install SL just run it...how do i do that?
So far, I changed boot priority and booted with iboot as primary boot. I got a choice between my SSD (the one in question), my secondary HD that just has data etc. on it...

I did some digging and found my iboot (2.5.2) disk and my SL 10.6.3 disk so that answers your initial questions of what versions I used originally...I never upgraded so that...

Nothing changed at all...just one day It got stuck on the Spinning circle of death.
I never upgraded my 10.6 so whatever it was it was running fine and I never messed with it once it was downloaded from real apple disk.
It was at least 3 years ago...
I installed 10.6 on my computer 2 years ago. Its been running fine until last week when it would freeze at white apple screen with continuous spinning disk...running a verbose I got the attached screen shot. As far as I can remember nothing was done to computer prior to it misbehaving. Can...
Check your bios setting...make sure its set up as described in the tutorials...its happened that it will revert back to default without warning.
Keep us posted of progress...

Just went and unplugged and then plugged them in again....rebooted and all is in order...Something must have been loose...DOH

Well went back to the basics and dove into the BIOS settings and found that all my Original settings concerning the configure SATA to AHCI, Onboard Devices Configuration etc. had reverted back to default...DOH...not sure how or why...rebooted and all is as I left it...I'll leave it at that and...

Got my system up and running with 10.6.5 combo update and it was working solidly. ( Only had to resolve Sleep problem). Day before yesterday, Upon starting up I suddenly had no audio.
I tried to work with multibeast(2.5.1) to reinstall some audio drivers...

Not sure what you mean by software... I just would like dual drives on my system. Do you mean dvd writer drivers? I am using the latest multibeast(2.5) and have already updated OSX to 10.6.5.
Writers are both LG 24x DVD writers.
