Best Build around i9-10900k for music production

CaseySJ goes into this topic in the Golden Build. He's used a Fenvi PCIe card that works well. Some use Intel cards and the drivers ported from Linux.
If you need 100% bluetooth functionality i would recommend to go with big sur at the moment. So if you would like to use the ipad with like midi over bluetooth is not working in monterey. Besides that i‘m running the Z490 Pro art creator which has as well on board thunderbolt, i‘m happy with the build. There is a build description in the user build. I run an apogee symphony mk2 over it which works fine. If you like to use thunderbolt pro audio equipment make sure to reaearch after it if someone could run it succesfully before. Some of them need thundetbolt local node which would need to reflash the chip. Besides that i would go for Z390 to Z490 which still has the best thunderbolt implementation. If thats not crucial you can go Z590/Z690.
My plan is to stay on hackintosh till everything (plugins) i need is native available on apple silicon then i will move back to apple with mac studio or mac pro. I built hackintosh machines since like 10 years but i think bang for the buck in correlation to the more complexness of getting a hackintosh run properly is getting more and more complicated and i would like to use the spare time better for making music/chilling or anything else. But i think it is still a good moment to build a hackintosh as you can use it several more years. If you are not interested in to learn how open core works and the whole thing around hackintosh i would go for a golden build as you here get the best support. Enjoy the whole process and have fun with your new machine then

Edit: I would go with something with on board thunderbolt. I had issues with the apogee symphony mk2 with thunderbolt add in card. Thats why i chose the Z490 Pro Art Creator

Higher frequency RAM combined with lower CL values is fastest but not usually the best value. You'll have to decide your budget and then choose accordingly. Personally I think anything above 3600 Mhz isn't worth it, 3200 is the best value.

ok thanks a lot, I had doubts about 3200 and 3600 Mhz.
I think will choose 64GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 Mhz CL16 DDR4

Thanks a lot for your kind reply. After some days analyzing all the aspects around the CPU 10900k I believe that I will buy a Gigabyte Z490 Vision G ( impossible to find Vision D ), 64GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 Mhz CL16 DDR4, etc.. For now I will try with the GPU on board if it's possible, if not I should to buy a GPU.

Hello to everyone from Italy, I would like to build my 2st hackintosh. The best possible around the i9-10900k cpu that I have.
The best solution to have an easy install with all working, mainly the thunderbolt and usb-c ports.

USAGE
Mainly Music production for now.
No games, in the future I could to do some video editing or rendering 3d but for now I will use it only with onboard gpu.

PERIPHERAL DEVICES
Universal Audio Apollo x6 -> via THUNDERBOLT 3 - slots on motherboard

COMPONENTS I have :

CPU : Intel Core i9-10900K
Power Supply : XFX XTR 750W
6 X 3.5" Sata HHD for SOUNDS and other
Monitor : APPLE LED CINEMA DISPLAY 27" Mini DisplayPort and LG full hd 32" LED HDMI port
CASE : Lian Li Lancool PC-K60
MOTHERBOARD : Gigabyte Z490 Vision G
RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64GB ( 2 x 32GB ) 3200Mhz
CPU COOLER : Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black
At this point I should to buy the SSD, as etorix told me on #3 :

Western Digital sn850 1TB is the best option ?

Thanks

As this is a work machine and requires Thunderbolt, the safe option is to stay with Titan Ridge (TB3) and avoid Maple Ridge (TB4), which has no official support in the Intel version of macOS.
If hot-plug is enough, Z490 Vision D should work out of the box with the EFI from the Golden Build.
If enabling the Thunderbolt bus is required or desirable, it may be better to go for Z490 Vision G and a Titan Ridge card, as flashing a card is easier and safer than flashing an on-board component.
I bought Gigabyte Z490 Vision G
I could get the Universal Audio Apollo X6 working when it's powered on and connected directly on usb-c port while booting macOS ? it will work ?
I would like to try in this way before to buy Gigabyte GC-TITAN RIDGE (rev. 2.0).
Thanks for your help

Have a read of CaseySJ's Golden build for Z490 Vision D.

He has added a section containing the Modifications required for the Z490 Vision G board.

He has also provided a link for setting up the Titan Ridge TB card on the Vision G board.

It's too late for your build, but I've just noticed that the Gigabyte W480 Vision D is still available at retail.
Different look, same characteristics as the Z490 Vision D, minus overclocking, plus support for ECC memory with Xeon W-1200 CPU. For hackintoshing, I would expect that it behaves exactly like its Z490 sibling.

Hello, before to proceed to the assembly I noticed that I received the i9-10900KF and not the i9-10900K. What do you think ? I read that the 10900KF has not the iGPU...
