[solved] Yoga 2 pro Mojave graphics issues

Status
Not open for further replies.
Was thinking of trying the whole thing once more with
Your hd4400 config.plist
fakepciid
fake Intel hd graphics
intelgraphics fixup
and lilu
(Sorry for the partial naming, I'm on my phone now)

Would the above even work or for Mojave or whatevergreen is the only way?

Because of the 4k display...
You need to set DVMT-prealloc to a larger than default value.
Then patch the framebuffer to match.

Setting DVMT-prealloc will require the use of the special UEFI shell (look at existing Yoga 2 guides for clues).
And look at config_UHD.plist from my y50 github project for an example of 128mb DVMT patching.

It seems that I was over engineering something.
After a fresh install,
using your HD4400 plist,
the frame buffer device properties from your y50 config_UHD.plist
lilu.kext and
whatevergreen.kext

I was finally able to get it to work.

I am attaching my debug report in case someone else goes through the same process.

Thanks so much for your patience @RehabMan :D

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.164990/
Use the gen_debug.sh tool mentioned in the FAQ, that way it is less likely you'll omit something.

It is because you forgot important patches related to DVMT-prealloc (refer to config_UHD.plist).
Also, you may have forgot -cdfon kernel flag.
