How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

The macOS installation does not take much longer than 20-30 minutes and always you are informed about the progress.. There is never a step in the entire installation with a black screen and a mouse courser!

Are you performing a clean install from USB or an update from system disk?

What about some more detailed bug report?

At which step the installation stalls exactly? Please boot in verbose mode with boot flag "-v" as set by default in the config.plist of my EFI-Folder distribution.

Can you post your BIOS settings?

Can you upload your EFI folder?

Cheers,

KGP
@kgp I skipped the update hassle, needed to do a fresh install anyway since DP audio wasn't working. Fresh install from 13.6 USB, than restore data from TimeMachine did the trick, now everything works........
Thanks again for the great guide.

Re:

"Before summarising all necessary ASUS and Gigabyte BIOS settings, let me provide X299D.CAP, the most recent ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe BIOS Firmware 1401 with an iMacPro Splash Screen Image (see Section E.11), which can be flashed by means of the well known ASUS EZ BIOS Flashback procedure.
B1.) ASUS BIOS Configuration
Before applying the specific settings, please provide your ASUS X299 Prime Deluxe with the most actual BIOS firmware 1301."

There's a typo on the last line of that: should be 1401, not 1301. "Summarizing" is also misspelled.
Also:
Although there may be some risk involved, there are several updated CPU micro-codes for the "latest" bios 1401, that are available via the UEFI Bios Updater + MMT tool (English language software for Windows):
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/9SSs/YJbsWyC2V
Using those software, was able to further update "X299D.CAP" (bios 1401) with newer dated CPU micro-codes.
These are likely related to the Spectre/Meltdown security issues.
Works with most AMI UEFI bioses, including Asus, Gigabyte & MSI.
Note: the same software indicates that firmware updates for the Intel LAN are also available, but the update process for that failed.
More info:
https://www.win-raid.com/t154f16-Tool-Guide-News-quot-UEFI-BIOS-Updater-quot-UBU.html
Updated Intel Management Engine firmwares may/could also be available (which are also present in the various UEFI bioses, but are not addressed via the above-mentioned UBU Bios Updater tool):
https://www.win-raid.com/t596f39-Intel-Management-Engine-Drivers-Firmware-amp-System-Tools.html
The IME update procedure also requires a Command prompt in the Windows software environment to function.
Note: the IME update procedure must be done on a live booted Windows system, while the UBU Bios Update is performed on the plain bios file (such as: "X299D.CAP") prior to the attempt of actually flash updating the system's UEFI bios.

Been trying to get my Hackintosh working for the past few days with little luck. I was having issues with runtime allocation errors but was able to fix that by using the OSXaptiofixdrv-2000 free but now I am getting stuck here (see attached pic). does anyone have any suggestions?

Nothing to “get rid off” and there is also no “SSDT”... I implemented CPU core ACPI replacements and renamings wthin my config.plist. All are disabled by default!

Nobody MUST rename and order CPU cores.

Hence, why, when someone not even able to boot his machine under macOS should stay clear of trying to do those..

Reading the context of a message such as what the message was answering, often helps before jumping and drawing conclusions...

Hi @nsm

I guess this is when booting from a fresh prepared installer USB stick?
In that case I believe clover can not find the macOS installer. Some thing went wrong while preparing the USB stick.

All the Best
Frank

@nsm can you upload a copy of your EFI directory so that we can see what's been done? I was under the impression that you should be using AptioMemoryFix, not any of the other variants with X299.

Can anybody link a 100% Working iMessage activation guide? I tried all kind of SMBIOS stuff, even reinstalled whole system and using a real Mac serial deleting iCloud history login and all Caches / Preferences but it says something like “cannot login at the moment, try later” all the time.

Can anybody explain AppleALC.kext + Lilu.kext implementation since the guide is pretty complex? I tried doing what’s written in the guide with no success.

These are the last 2 things I need to fix to get a proper workin machine. Would be great if somebody could help me.

I had to change included AptioMemoryFix with OSXAptioFixdrv-2000free and use slide=0 to boot, I had “allocation memory” problems with Aptio, dunno why!

Never use AptioMemoryFix.efi with slide boot flag! Slide boot flag 0 makes no sense to me anyway..

Aptio sticks me at boot, with or without slide=0 / OSXAptio2000 works with slide=0 - don't ask me why, I just tried and tried!

Any hint about iMessage and Apple ALC.kext?

Try to boot with above 4G decoding enabled in bios.

AppleALC and iMessage fully described in my guide. Nothing to add at this place, sorry.
