Mine went away after upgrading my graphics from a Vega 56 to a 5700. Now it auto sleeps and wakes fine.

Does it generate a report?

if I use Alfred to sleep my displays and try to wake them I get a crash. But manually sleeping and waking gives no issues. It seems to be a problem that many on the Apple forum suffer.

If I had a guess maybe not all the USB ports are being seen, I am using mine through a usb header.

A clean install solved my problem

I have that card and it works well with Catalina, have handoff and everything working

I've tried that on both devices and even iPad. My guess is some file may be damaged. I think I may try a clean install and see if that fixes it.

I moved the ALC kext to S/L/E and that seems to have fixed my sleep audio issue
