I think I got what was causing the issue. I had Adguard installed. Latest version of this probably screwed up my system. Have used previous versions with no issues. Thanks !

Had the same problem.
As a last resort, I tried using Multibeast 7.5 to install sound driver like I did for my Yosemite install and it worked. I have sound now.
You can try it. At least till the new Multibeast gets released.

Created a USB boot drive with Yosemite using Unibeast. And managed to install Yosemite with no issues except for this one important one.
The system can't recognise my Western Digital MyBook external hard disk. This drive works great with Mavericks 10.9.5.
Any ideas what could be wrong...
