    Working 10GbE SFP+ NIC

Second W10 machine I dropped it in didn't even recognize it in BIOS :-/ It was probably dying already, which is why I got some semblance of detection of the card at first. I believe it's a dud now. Dang, it's not like there's a lot of these for sale. @pastrychef If the Gigabyte branded one...

    Working 10GbE SFP+ NIC

I now have the following in my config.plist: Still says "Cable unplugged". I tried enabling the NIC in Windows 10, but the card seems finicky. Is detected, but won't start - Error Code 10. I am fearing I might have a dud or something with so old a firmware that it just dies all the time. Or...

    Working 10GbE SFP+ NIC

Got the card today and plugged it in. It is recognized by macOS. Unfortunately, the connection doesn't come up. Just says "Cable unplugged" I am connecting to a Ubiquiti USW 10G aggregation switch via a 10m Cat6 cable, hooked into an FS 10G ethernet transceiver. I am on Catalina 10.15.7 -...

    Working 10GbE SFP+ NIC

@pastrychef Alright, I've actually managed to scrounge up a Syba SD-PEX24055 which is the one you refer to here: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/what-are-the-options-for-10gbe-on-mac-pros.1959937/post-26972577 When it arrives and I get it fired up, I'll post back.

    Working 10GbE SFP+ NIC

An OEM card using the AQC-107 chipset or an aQuantia branded card? (I don't know if there is such a thing, forgive me my ignorance..)

<< Solved >> Solarflare SFN5122F Mac OS Driver not more available

Is this the same kext that would be used for the Solarflare S6102? And do you still have it working on 10.15.7?

    Working 10GbE SFP+ NIC

Anyone have a 10GBe NIC working in Catalina? Preferably SFP+ I've looked at a number of threads both here and other sites, but nothing conclusive. Does seem like the Aquantia AQtion AQC-107 has been supported OOB, but I can't find evidence that it works on Catalina, and I'd rather avoid...

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

So, OpenCore seems to be the way to go, then.

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Has anyone taken the plunge and installed Big Sur on their OptiMac yet? Experience, learnings or anything you'd like to share?

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Regarding the GT1030LP, it will not work as it is based on Pascal architecture (whereas the GT710 is based on Kepler architecture) and there are no drivers in macOS Mojave and Catalina for Pascal-based GPUs.

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Didn't mean to offend - I was referring to the Gigabyte B460 mobo, not the OptiMac 9020 (which I have running and which is great) I've read elsewhere on the site that Hackintosh builds based on the 10000 series were still considered experimental, so I just wanted to make sure before I push any...

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Is this mobo proven? Thinking about building a second Hackintosh, this time based on OpenCore. Would be a nice, affordable way to foray into OpenCore without having to tear down my working OptiMac and compromise the production setup.

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Oh, I know the feeling - there's always something to improve :D I must have misread your profile info - I thought it said i7-4790 - my bad! If you take a look at https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-4770/2384vs1978 there's apparently only a performance...

    The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Re 4790K, post #1 suggests that 4790K can be used (but not OC'ed) Re another CPU cooler, apart from the mechanical fitting, there is the obvious 5-pin fan connector that would need an adapter. Since you already have an i7-4790 the performance jump is neglible in everyday use. Personally, I...
