    Can't boot SL any more?!!

Well, I've finally gotten iBoot to boot. What finally did it was disconnecting both hard drives. I don't have time now, but I am hoping that connecting only the drive with SL on it will also allow iBoot to work. At least it's progress!

    Caution on multi-booting--weird partition results

Thanks for the info. I believe I followed the guide instructions at least as far as the Windows installation, and other than the bump I'll describe in a moment, I mostly followed the part through Ubuntu. My problems seemed to start from a hiccup in the Ubuntu istallation--it choked once, and...

    Caution on multi-booting--weird partition results

I was in the process of setting up a SL/Win7/Ubuntu system using the guide found here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=20872 I had Win7 and SL more or less running, and decided to add Ubuntu. I probably missed an important step, and managed to largely make my Windows partition...

    Can't boot SL any more?!!

I'm still stuck on this. I've switched the order of my hard disk boot (not that it should matter), and unplugged all peripherals other than KB, mouse and monitor. I even tried Iboot 3.1. The only thing I've not yet done is pull 4 of the 8 GB in my system, but that was not necessary in the...

    Can't boot SL any more?!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try going to an optimized BIOS. FWIW, I also borked my Win7 installation while doing an Ubuntu install. oy!

    Can't boot SL any more?!!

I don't believe so. I've checked settings since I had the problem to see if there was anything that might be SL unfriendly. Still on AHCI, and nothing else that I can see is different.

    Can't boot SL any more?!!

Actually, the fundamental problem is that iBoot does not load at all, so even if I were to decide to reload SL, I'm a bit stuck. I can't think of anything that would cause this. Help?

    Can't boot SL any more?!!

I added a check box for Nvidia graphics in Multibeast.

    Can't boot SL any more?!!

I had a nominally working system, and made a change to try to get proper graphics. That hosed the display, as I thought it would. What surprised me is that after that I could not boot at all into Chimera. I have a dual boot with Win7 on another disk, so I switched the boot order; Win7 boots...

    Boot loop OR KP

I guess I got sloppy with the second round. First round I used a DSDT for my board. I didn't use one at all on the second round. Sounds like I need to locate that one and try again.

    Boot loop OR KP

I used this technique (viewtopic.php?f=81&t=22797) to get things going properly, with some success. I then tried to add in a GeForce 210 card, which resulted in a boot cycle. I pulled the card and tried to do a reinstall (wiping the HD), and going back to onboard graphics so I could change the...

    Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 - i7 2600k - Onboard graphics

I used this technique to get things going properly, with some success. I then tried to add in a GeForce 210 card, which resulted in a boot cycle. I pulled the card and tried to do a reinstall (wiping the HD), and going back to onboard graphics so I could change the boot options (graphics=no and...

    I must be missing something

Of course. I should have picked that up from your earlier point. Thanks. I'll try that tomorrow.

    I must be missing something

I don't think so. I have to force it to boot from the CD. If I do nothing, it boots from the hard drive. I need to figure out how to get Chimera to the MBR, or equivalent, I think.

    I must be missing something

I have a dual boot (soon to be triple boot) system, on two physical drives. (Win 7 on one, OSX on the other). I've run multibeast, and Chimera on its own, but I can't get the bootloader to run on booting. If I don't run iboot from the CD, it boot straight to Windows. I must be missing...
