    You were right it was a power management thing. I removed the kexts responsible, disabled Vt-d, disabled 'Turbo mode' in BIOS, made sure my SSD's were set to AHCI mode and now I get to the grey screen with the spinning apple wheel but though I wait for 15-20 mins it just switches off after that...

    Sorry I think I replied to the wrong thread :crazy: woops. I have no idea how to implement patched kernels, could you help me with this please? Does it mean typing in arguments at the Chimera screen (pre - installer page/phase)?

    I have the same configuration as you, except I have 16GB Ram and I cant get pass the Apple screen to installer either. None of the boot flags I put in work either.
