    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

After a long uphill battle, I managed to get my install working again. Turns out the B-Tree of my HDD (where I had my home folder) got corrupted, and this was preventing me to boot into the user. I managed to fix it with the old and trusty disk warrior, but somehow some things got broken...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I managed to get it working by using this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-gigabyte-designare-z390-thunderbolt-3-i7-9700k-amd-rx-580.316533/post-2250255 But I installed the 2.2 drivers. I have not managed to get bluetooth working yet though. I've focused on backuping my corrupt...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Thanks @CaseySJ I meant when I tried to save the config.plist file. I figured out what the error were. I think OpenCore Configurator checks online for error, but does so against the latest version of OpenCore. I realised this a little while ago, and managed to boot just now with the OC 0.9.2...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I couldn't find a more recent fresh install for the Designare z390, so went with this one, which after a long battle ended up being installed on my fresh ssd! I managed to get it to boot, but notice some random freezes and sometimes freeze at boot. I also noticed the fans on my Radeon Saphire...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I got the SN850XWD and got ready to install it in my machine. I opened it up, removed the Graphic card to access the 2nd NVMe slot, and installed the new SSD in. I then proceeded to reboot the machine, but to no avail. The DRAM led on the motherboard turns on and stays on... I tried removing...

Thx, will grab one of those. I guess not upgrading from Catalina wasn't so bad. It probably saved my SSD.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Because the sluggishness is becoming painful on my machine, I will embark on doing a clean install. I'll take this opportunity to also upgrade my SSD drive to something with more storage and better (2TB or more). I currently have a Samsung Evo 970 500Gb. From reading the thread here, it seems...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

gm, my build is starting to run a bit sluggishly, most probably from lots of updates and also, accepting a system update by mistake and not doing it the right way. I'm thinking of doing a clean re-install. What would be the best way to go about it? Especially with all the new stuff that came...

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I got it working. The issue came from the system blocking the drivers. Allowing hem to run from the System Preferences Security tab did the trick.

    [SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

I updated to OC 0.7.5, and added the R6 SSDT file (as I have an R6). After more testing, it seems like my UAD card isn't recognized anymore. It used to work straight out of the bat. Any idea what could cause it? I'm almost there after such a long hiatus.

My home is indeed on another drive. Could it be that I plugged it on the wrong SATA port? I don't have a spare drive at hand, but seeing I can get to the login screen makes me believe my hw config is ok. Will try to plug it to different ports.
