I have just done a fresh install of mavericks on my pro book everything seems to be fine except in my about this mac it shows my display as 13 and it should be 15 how can i change this without causing any disruptions to other settings?? "macbook pro 8.1" is showing its just the display size...

Not quite, when i said earlier that i added the string to my org.chameleon.boot.plist it did not save as i did not have permission to change but i fixed permissions and added the string and all is fine now. Thank you

thanks for the fast reply, i have added the string to my org.chameleon.boot.plist but unfortunately that did not solve my resolution problem. I have ran the installer again (6.1) and reapplied the atheros patch still no luck. Thanks

I have read as much as possible regarding 10.8.5 update but have 2 problems. I have no wifi, and yes i did apply the patch from the installer. I have the 1080p upgrade screen and every time i reboot the resolution is always wrong and i have to reset it in system preferences

Hello all. I dont want to jump in on others asking for help, but i also have a question!! Is it safe to do the Thunderbolt firmware update and also the MacBook Pro EFI firmware update?? I have done a search but cannot find an answer.....Thanks Montyboy

Yes the Probook 4530s is excellent, i also have an Acer 5750G and i find it to be a very good second best. I got lots of help from the good people here to get things working on both my laptops. Great forum, Montyboy

I am very happy to be running ML 10.8.2 on my 5750G and although i finally managed to create my own (native) DSDT, when i go to 'about this mac' MacBookPro8.2 it shows i have 4 memory slots, is there any way to change this? Everything else is just fine. Thanks Montyboy

Thank you very much for all your help, I now have wifi and HDMI audio with your DSDT.aml. I had already installed the kexts from you early today but that made no change. With your DSDT.aml everything is working, maybe i made mistakes trying to edit, i don't know, but now i am very happy...

I deleted line 17 and was able to save as "aml" when i insert the required txt for my Atheros card and compile i get 59 errors. Object not found or accessible from scope (GFXO....) (DTGP) and others. I think its time for a beer. Will keep trying and let you know.............thanks montyboy

Thanks for your reply but again i have tried many times to edit the DSDT but i can never save it as "aml" . When i open the dsdt.aml from Merv77 with dsdt editor and click on compile before i have made any changes i always get 1 error, when i click on fix errors it has no effect. Could it be...

When i used the dsdt from Sahand-N in post #9 it just worked without having to do anything. I have tried all day to edit the dsdt from Merv77 without luck, i have never edited a dsdt file before. Any help and advise would be great. Thanks Montyboy
