Removing ncpi=3000 fixed my audio problem as well!!!!!

Removing the ncpi flag fixed mine for alc889 as well! Rock on!

Backed up from my CarbonCopy. Deleted the genericusb kext, reinstalled and ran multibeast before reboot. Successful install, but no audio. See attached ioreg. What are other options? Is that it for alc889 from now on?

Ran 10.8.5 again over existing installation. Attached is screenshots and ioreg from before and after. Also included is the system.log which I think contains the readout from -v? I didn't see a kernel.log

Alright. Here's what I did: 1. Removed that usb kext 2. Ran DPCIManager 3. Rebuilt cache where there were no errors 4. Rebooted. 5. Ran Multibeast (success) 6. Checked IOREG. The layout-id seems correct now. 01-00-00-00 7. Checked About This Mac/../Software/Extensions, no AppleHDA 8...

I, too, would like to point out that I rolled back my audio as I always have for all the 10.8 updates. But 10.8.5... no dice. I have posted my IOREG as well as all other items toleda asks for in the No Audio/Solutions and Problem Reporting thread and encourage others with the problem to do the same.
