Success upgrading from Ventura to MacOS Sonoma on my Dell XPS 9560!
How: keep the same EFI being used for Ventura and OpenCore (I'm at OC 9.4DEV). Just change the SMBIOS from MacBookPro14,3 to MacBookPro15,1 using the GenSMBIOS tool to change the appropriate MLB, SystemSerialNumber, and...
I was getting sleep mode errors too. So I disabled all sleep mode settings (it's a bit different in Ventura). Just using a screen saver until someone else can figure it out.
Sharing my config.plist would be problematic because there will be differences depending on which OC version and whether you are using 1080 or 4K display. Make sure you use OCAuxiliaryTools to check you config.plist and it matches the requirements for the OC version you are using. I am using OC...
The best way is to update your EFI using OCAuxiliaryTools to any OC version later than 0.8.3. Make sure to update the KEXTS as well as the OC and Boot folders in the EFI using the tool. I am running Ventura 13.1 (beta) with no issues.

Several changes in the config.list need to be made:
1. UIScale should be <01>
2. The DeviceProperties for the integrated...
I am also having problems booting from the USB Installer with the newer EFI. I use my own SMBIOS settings for both MacBookPro 14,1 and 14,3. After the progress bar moves about a quarter of the way the screen goes black and progresses no further. I have the 1920x1080 display, not the 4K.

Which version of Clover is causing the problem? I'm on 5102 without issue. I see that 5103 has just been released, but I have not updated to that one yet.
I fixed the slow behavior by starting with the original posted clover folder from the OP, reinstall it into the EFI folder of your boot drive, then update the Kexts only once using the Clover configurator.
