Also forgot to ask: how can I check whether or not the SPDIF output on the motherboard works (apart from testing it)?
is there any parameter to add in the config.plist? I read there is already a parameter in the device properties which corresponds to the ALC ID = 11 (it is set to 0x0B00000). But...
Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately my AppleTV is in the lounge room. And my system in my study. I wanted mainly to have my system connected to a dolby atmos soundbar so that I could watch netflix or prime via their web interface. However I discover that my 2 echo studio gen 2 support in fact...
@CaseySJ Hi there,
I am currently in the process of changing my old dying soundbar (connected vie bluetooth) and looking at investing in another soundbar that supports Dolby Atmos. From what I could read, Dolby Atmos does not work over Airplay 2 so only solution seems to be via HDMI cable...
@CaseySJ I have noticed that for a while now when I boot the system, it takes a very long time. more than a minute. It used to be quick but not sure what happened. It started after an OC update and at the same time the software update from ther SW centre started failing (I can't use it anymore...
@CaseySJ I am planning to reinstall my sonoma system because it is broken. Not sure what it is but the system fails each time I try to update to new versions via the settings, or when it reboots it takes so long that at one point I thought the system was stuck in a loop! My question: do I need...
@CaseySJ Hi there, it might not be the right place for this post but I was just wondering guys had any issue using the Migrating Assistant from a hackintosh to a real Mac? I am starting to think that given the lifespan of the Intel hacks, the various hacks to make the system work, it might be...
@CaseySJ In order to get their drivers you need to fill in a sort of NDA and can't use the driver for commercial purpose. I bought my modules directly from them and filled in those NDAs last November to get the drivers. However I can find the drivers on my system. I have recontacted my contact...
I have also a spartan module + pcie adapter if you want me to help, I can try. But it might take a while to get used to the instructions and where to look for. Might have to do the changes on my extra backup SDD.
doesn't the system report tell you the type of chipset? I mean if I look at my system report under wifi, the firmware version is labelled "Broadcom BCM43xx..." It does not give you the exact model but it gives you an idea of the series of chipset that is used.
@CaseySJ I was just thinking regarding the wifi not working in Sonoma, if we know the wifi chipset used in the M1 or M2 Mac Air/book, etc. and a PCIe card on the market is available with the same chipset, shouldn't it work out of the box?
I have tried to find what wifi chipset is used in the...
@CaseySJ I have tried to update ventura 13.6 via the appstore since SW update keeps failing and it worked. The system was updated without losing any data. My next question is: can I do the same thing to upgrade to Sonoma? Can I perform the update via the appstore rather than the SW update since...
@CaseySJ I am in the process of trying to fix my corrupted EFI and although the system boots fine I think this is he reason preventing me to upgrade my system to 13.5.2 or Sonoma. I have booted up my system from my backup clone and trying to fix as per the folliowing guide...
@CaseySJ Tried Sonoma upgrade and as expected it failed preparing the upgrade at the 25 minutes mark. While doing some investigation on the net, there were a couple of solutions such as repairing your startup disk which I did via First Aid in Disk utilities and got the following error. Could...
