Luckily I can eject it. A right click in the finder gives me the option to do so. The only big difference is that it has the "internal icon" in finder and it does not show up on the desktop as my other USB-HDDs.

Hey there, I'm having the same Mainboard with a 2.4Ghz I2Q processor but I'm not able to reach the Mavericks (and above) Installer. It stops at "Starting Darwin x86_64" and the computer reboots. Would be nice if you could make some statements about your bios setting. :) Thanks!
