Yup, x16 on 1st and x8 on second. Gamers Nexus did a wonderful writeup about this and actually less worried about it (TLDR ~1% difference in actual performance) - more of a question of what the heck is going on with why the mobo wouldn't want the 6800xt in the first slot? I would assume the...
Hi all,
I have a weird one - got the 6800xt and after much back and forth of just not getting even windows to recognize it (and getting a replacement card) I realized that my Z370 mobo would only work with it in the 2nd PCIE slot. My current 1080Ti has been happily living (and working) in the...
Yup, turned out that the issue was the usbc adapter, or rather - do not use apple thunderbolt 3 (usb-c) to thunderbolt (mini display port) adapters - got a regular usb-c -> HDMI and usb-c -> display port and both worked fine. Dual monitor works perfectly fine :) Thanks!
Okay, so if I change the platform ID in clover it doesnt seem to be recognized in Hackintool, so I gather I'm doing something wrong...?
Edit: I managed to get it to change, but I feel like the issue might be (after reading more cases) the actual adapter. I'll get something more direct and...
Hey all,
I cant seem to find any info on how to get dual monitors to work on the NUC8i5 on Mojave? I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in the 300 pages of this thread...
Gotta say though - what a cute little beast of a device - took only an hour to get it running smoothly.
Thanks!
Unfortunately I'm working in 5.1 so I'd need to get one of those uber expensive 5.1 monitoring units with a remote controller since my entire PT rig is in another room. I'm running PT and everything else work related through the audio interface directly, but for low level things like system...
Hi all, I’ve got my speakers connected to my Focusrite audio interface and have been routing my system audio out the analog outputs of the Z370 motherboard and back into the audio interface analog inputs which is in turn going to the outputs/speakers - this way I can still control volume with my...
Hi,
Oh absolutely faster than real time. Whatever is the current version - I'm in the post sound universe so it's a movie - 95min length, 4x5.1+8x2.0 tracks, so 40 mono tracks @ 24b/48kHz BWF. Not a crazy big session but easily 12x speed (so 95/12=7-8 min). If it's smaller stuff it goes waaaay...
Ok, so I went back to no over clocking and then ran a test. Then back to OC, test again. Results are pretty interesting. It does a good job cooling standard settings but once I kick it into OC it barely keeps up.
I feel like a more powerful fan would be necessary if overclocking. thoughts?
Ok, I'll check everything there - glad I noticed this before starting to use the machine full time... Thanks trs96!
*and to reply fully - i hope it was seated properly, probably would have shut down a couple times of overheating if it wasnt. I applied the paste, evenly. But here's the question...
I'm running an offline bounce in Pro Tools - it's pushing the processor, but I didn't expect it to get that hot. Hackashaq used a different cooler, but he was reaching 60C, so that's a huge difference.
Hi everyone!
First off, thanks HackaShaq for the perfect build instructions. I finished my build recently and nearly everything works flawlessly. I haven't sorted my USB situation yet (only front ports work, but haven't had enough time to deal with it). Both Ethernet work, my 1080Ti works, even...
