Confused due to many guides / Questions

Find a guide that has your exact motherboard. If there are lots of them then pick the one where the other components (especially the graphics card) is the same. Follow the guide closely and it should all be good.

What brand/model of wifi card is it? Are you sure it's compatible? Also, I don't think wifi cards show up under Hardware/Ethernet but Network/Wifi

    ACPI Kernel Panic

Those errors are no problem. They happen when the O/S is rebuilding the kext cache after you change a kext because the modified kexts aren't signed. I've learned the hard way that you have to be careful if there is a discrepancy between the kext cache and your actual setup. It can cause a...

    Mavericks kernel panic after install

Set the bios to boot from igfx, remove the video card and connect the monitor to onboard graphics. If that solves the problem, you will need to do this to boot with the amd card. http://www.tonymacx86.com/401-install-bootloader-extra-efi-partition.html

2 Questions about Chimera and EFI partition

I'm not sure. Doesn't this copy the Chimera from your existing partition to the new one. I want to instal it from the installer to EFI. When I tried mounting EFI and installing it directily from the app, it doesn't give the EFI partition as an option.

    Changing Just One Driver

As long as you don't select any DSDT options or any other options, in fact, YES, all it does is install the one driver. BUT it is true that you may need to rebuild the cache for it to take effect. Also, you may not have proper hotswap fuctionality if you didn't select it in the BIOS. On my...

    Changing Just One Driver

Run Multibeast and click on "Drivers". Select Disk and check the driver you need. Then click the "Build" menu icon. On the right side, select the disk you want to apply the driver to. Wait for kext cache to rebuild. You might get a warning that the kext is not signed or something. You can...

Carlo, your issues are not the same. The OP is not even getting to the BIOS screen. You are getting to the Apple logo. VERY different.

Hackintosh doesn't boot on first try of the day

I think the Windows thing is a coincidence. For me the more relevant factor is that the system is sitting off overnight so it's cooled down. The more I think about it the more I think it's a PSU problem. What brand/model of PSU are you using? How old is it? It's easy to test my theory...

Hackintosh doesn't boot on first try of the day

If you aren't getting post, it's most likely hardware related. I'd start by removing each USB peripheral and rebooting to try and replicate it. See which removal stops the behaviour. If that doesn't work move on to hard drives and PCI(e) cards. It could also be your PSU.

    Weird white box!

Does the same effect occur in BIOS or another O/S?
