Memory corrupted after longer sleep

Status
Not open for further replies.
Hi cloudwalker,

I didn't mean to imply that the memory support list is to be taken as a reference for working memory sticks - my other Kingston sticks worked without being on the list after all. I just thought it was curious that the memory that's working for me is also the only one on the list.

Anyway, I still believe that this is going to be fixed sooner or later, as the same memory chips that are causing problems under Yosemite apparently worked in Mavericks without issue. It's probably just a question of time until Apple starts using memory chips that will exhibit the same issue (or maybe they already are in some models - you can find very similar symptoms on original Apple hardware in various discussions).

I will have to eat my own words. Yesterday I had problem with Safari after a longer sleep, basically it keps giving me memory-related errors (such as 0x00000006). However, my computer didn't reboot itself, but I had to reboot it to make Safari work again.

I am experiencing this issue as well.. after an extended sleep period I get some lines of code then system restart with an error report:

I had the same application corruption after long sleep. I have cleared option "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" and "Wake up for Wi-Fi network access" and now i am no longer experienced these issues.

Nah - didn't fix, thanks though.

Anyone? I'm having trouble with system panic/crash/reboot after sleep! very frustrating, please help

I've been busy, haven't had a time to look into it yet. Soon, I hope.

So....
This is a problem which never appeared on an system from me before.
It seemed like just haswell systems have this problem. (before i thought it´s up to my mb)
Had this problem also a long time and it drived my crazzy (and i tested all of my components and tested much things) but it seems like i found a solution.
Since i did this changes my system is running for 4 days (which is really long for this error), test is still running if it is really gone but it looks very good.

I edited the plist in Resources folder from X86Platformplugin.kext for my system.
For now i deleted the DarkWakeServices, IOPlatformSystemSleepPolicy, ThermalConfiguration out of the file.
After the test i will try to find out which of the settings triggered this isssue.
My favorites are: DarkWakeServices (which is like i think for powernap so it could be a hot hint) or IOPlatformSystemSleepPolicy.

Edit:
Now i´m sure for 100%.
After 7 days of running without error i tried to find out what causes the problem.
It´s definitive IOPlatformSystemSleepPolicy which triggers the issue because after adding it again it crashed after 12 hours.

Would be interessting if we could patch it.
I will test now the IOPlatformSystemSleepPolicy from a system which doesn´t support powernap, maybe it was adjusted for the use with it.
Otherwise i will delete it.

After i excluded the cause i will post again.
Would be great if somebody can test this on his system too.

Does anybody has experience with it?
