Guide To Install Yosemite on HP Laptops with Clover UEFI

Followed the guide, got it installed after a good couple of attempts. When I got to hp probook installer at end it gave warning about f4 not being pressed even though I did. After using Yosemite and updating progs via App Store etc everything was fine apart from audio, usb3 not working and also battery percentage not showing - I have a 4530s with low res screen - I brought across data from my CC clone and noticed sound started to work on a user account. So I ran the probook installer again. This time after getting to the clover screen it starts to load Yosemite, then blinks and then the screens starts to white out, and two visible black lines appear, think I've either not selected the right screen option in the HP probook installer or something else has happened, hiw can I fix this - any ideas? - ps noticed some options at the clover screen can I use these?

Thanks

can u show me ur dumplog file? clover/efi/clover/acpi/origin

Ok once more reinstall

Why u want to support me? Im doing something wrong and u pissed off because of me?

Because you didn't read the big red lines in the guide. I wonder why you can ignore it like that.

Hi,

This is my first post here on these forums and have been working with OSx86's since august of this year. I've been following these Clover/Probook/PBI forums since a couple months back, when I successfully converted my 2570HP Elitebook, to a fully working Mavericks Hackintosh (minus iMessage). Big thanks to nguyenmac , rehabman and company for the guides and support to us.

Last weekend I upgraded my fully working Mavericks Hackintosh 2570 elitebook to Yosemite. Problems encountered where No Wifi and No sound. Got those issues solved and now have fully working Yosemite on my 2570 laptop (still no iMessage, but fixed ROM and MLB per instructions on other thread on these forums and now need to give Apple a call to remove the lock)

Now to the interesting part of my Yosemite upgrade (help or opinion needed)

I have Geekbench 3.1.6 and when I had Mavericks ,was registering over 6309 on multicore 64bit.... but now on Yosemite I'm registering 5465. So I decided to do a Clean Install to find out if that could be the problem... and I did the following...

1. Did a clean install using option 2b
2. Successfully booted to Yosemite
3. First thing I did was a Geekbench test and registered a 6289 score:clap:
4. Then proceeded with step 13 (HP PBI install) version 6.2.11.2
5. Again did a Geekbench test and registered a 5453 score:banghead:
6. Continued installing everything else and again have a fully working Yosemite on a 2570p

From what i saw, the lower score is not caused by Yosemite that's for sure. Maybe i'm doing something wrong in step 13 with PBI, or there is some effect in step 13 that causes this lower score. Any ideas??

Thanks for your time and sorry for my first long post.

Any ideas? before I do another clean install And step by step PBI install...

can't you read the damn red big lines in the guide?????

Hello guys,
I have a small problem.
I have installed the new pbi and by mistake i have selected the full hd resolution in the menu.
Now my osx boots but with a black screen. I have tried safe mode, verbose mode but no luck.
Can i do something to boot up in a low res ?
I have the last clover installed.
Thank you.

Mine did that too. Clover had set the resolution to 1024x768 which my ProBook 6360b couldn't display. There is a boot option to set the resolution, in my case to 1366x768, and once in I could configure Clover to use the correct resolution.
You might find that adding a 2nd screen to the VGA port might display something anyway.

Try removing the WiFi card (and thus the BT hardware) just to see if it solves the KP.

Just removed the Wifi card and created a brand new USB (as per the 1st page) and unfortunately it's still coming up with the same error messages/Kernel Panic.

I also tried disabling the Wifi and Bluetooth in the BIOS after the above didn't work but it didn't make a difference.

Any ideas on what might be causing the issue or any other potential workarounds I could try?

Did you try booting without caches (after removing the hardware)?

Check BIOS settings...

You could also try creating USB with Unibeast instead of 'createinstallmedia'...

Hi again Rehabman,

I just wanted to thank you for the help you provided and give you an update on the issue (If you're interested).

I was able to get Yosemite (with Clover) installed and bypass the error message (in attached file) by disabling the Serial Port, Parallel Port and the SD Card reader options within my BIOS..... A bit weird as I never thought these options would of caused an issue and they never have before. I didn't narrow it down any further between the 3 of them but they were the only 3 options I've changed and lo and behold the error happens again if I enable them.

I'm only experiencing one remaining issue now:

I have a HP branded Broadcom BCM943224HMS which wouldn't work until I changed my SMBIOS to MacBookAir5,2 but now it seems to be performing very poorly in comparison to Mavericks.

It's maxing out at around 1-2 Mbps on a 5GHz Wireless N network on Downloads where it was achieving 60-70Mbps previously.

I've tried restoring a Time Machine backup of Mavericks and the issue is resolved but happens again when I reinstall Yosemite.

Any ideas?
