How To Install OS X Yosemite Using Clover

I have an Asus Z97M-Plus motherboard and an nvidia GTX 650 Ti.

Not sure what the issue is, I've done this guide twice with zero success. I even used usb2 and usb3 ports.

Mark,

I had success with the same motherboard by installing Yosemite with a unibeast drive, and then using a clover usb stick (and tonymac's attached hd4600 plist) to boot into the freshly installed OS afterwards. I have a GTX 770, not a GTX 650 Ti, though. In addition, I performed the install without the discrete graphics, using the HD 4600 in my 4770k. Once I confirmed that the clover usb stick would boot the install with the integrated graphics, I powered down, added the GTX 770, and rebooted (again with the clover usb).

What flummoxes me is the interaction between the clover installer and corestorage volumes. When I install clover to the system's hard drive, there are no files listed on its EFI partition. I haven't tried manually copying the config/drivers/kexts from the working usb stick to the EFI partition on the system hard drive yet, though. For now, just living with the usb boot (not the worst hackintosh problem, to be sure).

After the 2 boot i do not see the drive Yosemite (the drive that i create and install os on after the recovery partition)
please advise...

Guys my problem still continue...

What I tried so far;

Remove NullCPUPowerManagement.kext --------- didn't work
Used Tony Standart.config ----------------- didn't work
Used Clover Original.config ---------------- didn't work
Tried USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 port ----------- didn't work
Used Tony NVIDIA GE=Yes.config --------- didn't work
Used my own system.config--------------- didn't work

I tried verbose mode boot I don't get any error. When verbose boot finished turning picture 2 down below. Actually always stuck in there apple loading screen past and white screen coming with spinning cursor.

My Graphic Card GTX 660 I always used this card with GraphicsEnabler=No. Because of that Im using Tony 'standart.config' files...

This may help, along with others experiencing issues using the "latest" Clover versions.

First off, I have a fully functioning Clover Hack running Clover r2953 (more on that later) but I only got to that version by upgrading from a USB Clover install that had r2795. This was a "special edition" that was made during the Yosemite beta program.

Just to experiment I followed the guide using R2953 and also got stuck at the spinning beachball so all I did was boot my system normally and reinstalled r2795 to the USB stick. It now boots to the install screen and works.

There really seems to be differences in the various Clover versions floating around out there when it comes to creating a USB installer and I originally had no success back in the beta program getting a working USB install stick until I stumbled upon r2795. The truly strange thing is that after I got it all installed using the public release of Yosemite I updated Clover to r2953 via Clover Configurator and it actually booted.

To summarize, installing via USB does not work for me using r2953 but does using r2795 with no other changes to either the drivers or the config.plist on the USB stick.

Hope this helps someone pulling their hair out! Just Google "clover r2795" and you'll find it somewhere.

Good luck!

I downloaded r2795 and Im creating clean USB installer right now please tell me which setting did you use for clover? This picture settings enough for r2795 or should I something different?

That looks ok to me. Use Clover configurator when done to uncheck "Inject Intel" as it doesn't look like you need integrated graphics according to your system profile. Let us know how it goes.

EDIT:

Attaching my config.plist from my r2795 Clover USB. Note though that I use an AMD graphics card so you'll need to make these changes if you want to do it manually instead of using Clover Configurator:

Change:

<key>ATI</key>
<true/>
<key>Intel</key>
<false/>
<key>NVidia</key>
<false/>

To:

<key>ATI</key>
<false/>
<key>Intel</key>
<false/>
<key>NVidia</key>
<true/>

I tried installing with clover and got a unexpected error 0 at the end of the install, Also after this it wiped my windows bootloader EFI partition so I had to reinstall windows (Twice) this happened:crazy:. It has never done this with any other OSX only Yosemite?:banghead:

Do you have Windows installed on a separate drive or do you have both OSX and Windows on the same drive?

If Windows is on a separate drive then there's no way you should be doing any of this without physically disconnecting it first.

If installing 2 operating systems on one drive it's just a recipe for disaster IMO.

Sorry it's not working out for you.

For people getting the ghostbusters symbol right after "unable to take control of..." make sure you have the "EHCI hand-off" enabled in the bios. For gigabyte motherboards it is under peripherals. Everything went smooth for me after that, except ethernet didn't work. I ended up using multibeast and installing atheros from there, restarted and kernal panic, restarted and booted clover without injecting kexts, and deleted kext from clover.

Sadly, my z68 mobo doesn't have that feature. I did disable the USB 3.0 ports, and I'm still getting the EHCI/ghostbusters logo. Hrmph.

Windows is RAID0 2 SSD's and the OSX was installed to a separate 250GB HDD for testing. I have used it like this for a while with multiple installes and never ran into this issue before.

1st wiped the EFI bootloader
2nd attempt modified my Raid0 array so it was not bootable at all

Right, but on your 3rd attempt you'll disconnect those 2 SSD's right? ;)

Hi everyone.

I was wondering if someone could help me. I have installed Yosemite, everything during the installation went fine except for a few hiccups, nothing major.

My problem is that when I remove the flash drive, my computer gets stuck at the screen where the little hyphen keeps blinking. It is as though it isn't reading my HDD. I am pretty sure I followed the steps in the guide exactly.

After I realised that it does't want to boot without the flash drive, I mounted the EFI partition and copied the 'boot' file and EFI from the flash drive to the partition.

I just checked Clover Config and this is the Partition Scheme.

0: GUID_partition_scheme *320.1 GB disk0
1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
2: Apple_HFS Yosemite 319.2 GB disk0s2
3: Apple_Boot Recovery HD 650.0 MB disk0s3

My system specifications are as follows:

Motherboard: Intel S5000XVN
CPUs: Intel Xeon E5440 x 2
Graphicscard: MSI GTX560 Ti (Using nvidia inject)

SATA Interface is currently set to Enhanced BUT AHCI is turned off - If turned on, Disk Util in Yosemite installer can not see my HDD. When turned on the Clover boot loader from the flash drive can see my my HDD, but if I boot to it, I get the white Quit symbol.

Screenshots are Clover on the HDD.
