HELP! Mavericks Install Going Sideways

Installed Snow Leopard 10.6.8 worked fine
Installed Mavericks following Tonymacx86 video instructions. Installer completed but will not boot into Mavericks to complete install. In some cases I get a 8877652 error depending on the flags or it stops on "System uptime in Nanoseconds".

I've tried the following flags:

-v -x​

-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes​

-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=1​

-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes PCIRootUID=0​

-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1​

-v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=0​

-v -x nv_disable=1​

-v -x nv_disable=0​

I'll take any suggestions. I'm out of ideas.

I was able to run the initial installer for Mavericks using Unibeast but when I restarted to complete the setup it, I received a kernel panic error. It would stick on IOBluetooth or error 8877652. Below are the steps I took to resolve the issue:

1. Boot to USB. Arrow over to the Mavericks installation on harddrive.
2. Press any key to bring up the boot command line and type, -v -s
3. System proceeded to loads some files and then stopped at a command prompt. At the command prompt I typed hitting enter after each line:​

mount -uw /
cd /System/Library/Extensions/
mkdir Intel_Back
mv AppleIntelHD* Intel_Back/​

Exit​

It rebooted was able to complete the setup. I ran Multibeast with the following options:

Rebooted and received an immediate Kernel Panic that I couldn't even read because the screen flashed too fast. To remedy that kernel panic, at the bootloader screen selected my hard drive installed OS and hit any key to open the boot command line.

I typed -v GeneratePStates=No Timeout=10 and WHOHOO it loaded my desktop. I clicked on "Go" then Go to Folder and in the typed /Extra in the search bar and clicked Go. I opened "org.chameleon.Boot.plist" and changed yes for GeneratePStates to No and changed Timeout from 2 to 3 and saved from the file menu option.

So far it's been working now it'll take time to confirm it's stable.

First please put your system specs in your profile like it says in the Rules - It will help others to help you.

I suspect your problem might be that your processor is not supported until BIOS version F6 - Link.


Set your BIOS to Optimised Defaults then disable VT-d and Turbo Boost.

Connect your monitor to your onboard graphics for the install and VGA is not supported.

Boot with -v -x and post a picture of the screen when it stops.

Your suggestion worked, I was able to complete the install. Now I have another problem. I ran Multibeast with the following configuration:

If I use boot flag -v, it stops loading at AppleKeyStore starting (screen shot attached)


If I use boot flags -v -x then it reboots when it gets to FakeSMCKeyStore:



I have found posts for members that have very similar setups and tried their Multibeast setups but still doesn't work. I'm about to throw in the towel (maybe just for tonight). I just don't get it. It's like it's right there but just won't make it the last mile. I'm afraid if I get it working and then put my GTX 760 back in, I'll have to start all over.

You should probably be ok to put the GTX 760 in now.

Boot with -v -x

And see how it goes - All being well you can Restart and try a normal boot.

After a week of running the system with my first install, I realized it didn't go as well as I thought. I had no audio and my GTX 760 wasn't recognized so I decided to start all over.

In my business, there is a lot of fine print, addendums and such which I spend hours per day pouring over so one would think I am always on the look out for it. Well apparently not in this instance. I could not successfully get the Unibeast Mavericks installer to start. One error after another...IOBluetooth, 8877652 and Panic(cpu0 or cpu2...) just to name a few. No boot argument worked. I read and re-read the Mavericks installer guide on the forum still could not get it to work and searched everywhere for a solution but could not find one.

Finally I noticed something I hadn't before....
"For best results with the latest 8-series motherboards and Haswell CPUs, remove all but 1 stick of RAM for the installation process. You can put back extra RAM sticks after post-installation is finished." - Tonymacx86

Granted my motherboard is a 9-series. I decided to give it a try anyway. There was the solution staring me in the face the whole time! I was able to install with boot argument -v GraphicsEnabler=No. Once I ran Multibeast, I no longer needed a boot argument. AND my GTX 760 is recognized and I have audio! If you are struggling and you haven't tried this, try it. It just might work the magic it did for me.

Note: I disabled my onboard graphics in bios before I started the installation process.
