Giacomoleopardo's Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WiFi Build for DB

Learned loads from this thread.

1.) I learned about the MaciASL repos for Graphics and Gigabyte, and found there's an ASUS one that includes DSDT for my board.
2.) I was able to inject HDMI Audio from my video card via DSDT thanks to the graphics repo.
3.) I learned about the correct filename for SSDT.am (not SSDT_pr.aml) when using Chimera/Chameleon.
4.) I learned how to get HD4000 working with this system definition so I can have multiple monitors, including 1 off my mobo.

Suddenly I have more CPU speed steps other than 16x 34x. My 4.5GHz OC works with something other than the MacPro3,1 definition. I don't have to run an audio cable anymore. Everything Just Works (tm). I read all of this in the deeply technical threads but my eyes glazed over. Seeing you put it in action and substituting my own hardware information where applicable finally made a bunch of stuff just "click" for me. This is awesome.

Thanks so much for all of your details!!

Hey everyone. So I just did a full update using the Unibeast method to Mavericks. Everything went perfectly. As far as I know everything works but I have encountered 1 problem.

Speedstep works and scales back as needed but the CPU core volts stays the same. I'm stuck at 1.07V constantly. Before the update it would scale back as needed to under 1V

Any advice??

I am doing an Upgrade, not a fresh install. From the Install log I think it failed when transferring or copying the user data. (I am not home so can't get it).

I was able to boot Mavericks by using boot flag -x. But basically it was a fresh install asking me to create account, etc.

Don't worry about a fresh install if you have a clone or a time machine backup.
Just continue and put back your user files later using migration assistant.

It seems there's nothing wrong, just don't try to use the upgrade function, it doesn't like hackintoshes :)

I installed (upgraded) Mavericks over my 10.8.5 installation on my Sandy Bridge Zorro system using UniBeast 3 and MultiBeast 6. All went went well, and I didn't have to use Migration Assistant.

But, BACKUP FIRST! :D Here's how I did it (you will use different MultiBeast 6 choices, but you'll see the procedure.)

Ok I didn't know it was even possible.

About the Build:
Powermanagement for both CPU & GPU now working and it shows! :)
I just ran a few tests with my cheap kill-a-watt meter and got:
Sleep @ 2w
Idle @ 27w-30w
Geekbench @ 85w-91w
Disk-activity to 5400rpm HD @ 35w-45w
Flurry screensaver @ 32w

The guide is still functional 100%

reported issues with Maciasl have been obliviated ;)[/SUP]

I made the move up to Mavericks and I already love the dual monitor support.

I have one issue that I have noticed so far. In ML my computer could sleep, but since the upgrade to Mavericks, my sleep does not work. Anyone else with this board experiencing this?

ok so i used unibreast method to install mavericks on mine
and i donna just doesn't seem to be as vanilla.
everything works out the box other then sound and onboard bluetooth/wifi
multibeast got my sound working and i took my onboard bluetooth/wifi off the board
but does seem quick, boots fast tho 11secs

someone gonna make a complete guide for this build running mavericks?

I've sort of covered the parts of the guide that still work and the parts that are currently not working.
Everything is the same except for Maciasl not being usable (so no custom DSDT for your board).

I think Maciasl will be updated so then the guide is 100% usable for Mavericks again.
For now install ML first, run Maciasl, copy your DSDT to your unibeast disk and start with Mavericks installation. In Multibeast use the DSDT you made earlier.
My hackintosh is running smoother in Mavericks then it did in ML (sleep & auto-sleep fully working, app nap etc). Only iMessages fails to authorise.

Hey jns, soon I'll update the guide. Just one thing: I've installed Mavericks OS on my ASRock build (here is the new guide) and MaciASL works properly on Mav! Both fresh install and update from Mountain Lion went flowlessly. ML dsdt and ssdt work well, but IMHO extracting them in the new system is always a better choice.
Last but not least: I've found a potential solution about iMessage/FaceTime issues on an insanelymac thread. I've posted it in my ASRock guide, would you please give it a shot and report results? Thanks man!

Just tried Mac\Extra folder and delete nvram.00020003-0004-0005-0006-000700080009.plist but can't find the file (hidden files are shown) ...

Maciasl seems to work now, don't know what I did wrong before
