Asus Z690 ProArt Creator WiFi (Thunderbolt 4) + i7-12700K + AMD RX 6800 XT

@CaseySJ Is there a way to install Catalina on this hardware..... I have the same setup except for I went with a i9 13900kf and a Rx 6600 XT, but the problem I'm having is my uad firewire is not supported in Monterey. It shows that my firewire card is working and it shows everything including the uad 2 . But with what I'm reading online uad discontinued the use of firewire with their software starting with Big Sur. And what I am seeing is that it's only compatible up to Catalina. I literally just got the thing maybe last year I would hate to lose all the plugins. The unit I bought was not transferable.... But the original owner left everything authorized for me to use as long as I want...... Do you think I would have a good chance using multi beast and uni beast?
Hello @Lurkhackwalker,

Welcome to the forum!

Alas, you've raised a question whose answer you may not like. Catalina is several years old, which means it does not support some of the latest devices such as:
  • AMD 6600, 6600 XT, 6650 XT, 6800, 6800 XT, 6900 XT, 6900 XTX
  • Intel i210 Ethernet
  • Aquantia AQC 113
Are you certain that UAD's Firewire-based Audio Interfaces cannot be made to work in Monterey?

The alternative is to build a different Hack, such as one based on Z390 chipset (Gigabyte Designare Z390) and use an AMD RX 580 GPU or even AMD RX 5600 and 5700 GPUs.

I was thinking about trying to see if I can put Catalina on my current setup.... I know the 6600xt is not native but I have a xfx Rx 580 to swap and then I was going to attempt to use unibeast and see if I can get it running and with everything working.
With what I have read my uad quad will work just not past Catalina.... I already have Catalina downloaded I'm going to give it a shot... Currently I already have Monterey running but I gotta give it a shot.

Let us know how you go with it!
How are you going to plug the UAD in? FW-TB2 -> TB2-TB3 -> MOTHERBOARD?

Has anyone reported and performance differences between iMacPro1,1 and MacPro7,1 with this configuration?

As for the
  • Intel i210 Ethernet
  • Aquantia AQC 113
I won't need those with my fenvi t919.
I am using the system strictly to record and mix audio. No streaming or downloading no gaming.

I have a Syba SY-PEX30016 3 Port IEEE 1394 Firewire Card....

Hi,
I am planning to build a new hackintosh. The same config except II would like to try the new 13th gen chip. MB and Graphics are same. Asus ProArt z690 + RX 6800 xXTt + i9-13900K is the config in my plan. Is anybody here successful with 13th gen chip?

I'm currently running Monterey.... With the i9 13900KF, RX 6600 XT and the ProArt z690.... It definitely can be done.

Thank you for the help.

Are you using the same EFI of 12th gen chip or did you made any tweaks for 13th gen chip.

From reports, BIOS updates for Z690 which introduce Raptor Lake support required some adjustments (SetupVirtualMap:true). Adjusted EFIs then work for both 12th and 13th gen, but Z790 boards and Z690 on later BIOS with 13th gen support seem to be more finicky than Z690 boards on earlier BIOS with support for 12th gen only.

Hello CaseySJ, I am an youtuber from China. I am planning to make a Chinese version of Hackintosh video tutorial recently, and I need to use the content and efi files in your thread. Can I cite the content of this thread? I will include the web address of this thread and your name in the introduction of video.
