Gigabyte Z690 Aero G + i5-12600K + AMD RX 6800 XT

Hi all! I need some help here. My z690 AERRO G DDR4 WORKS fine with an AMD RX 580 or RX 6900 XT. If I change the video card to an RX 6650 XT (tried two different Manufacturers), macOS freezes halfway though boot screen. Both 6650 XT work fine Using a Z360 Gaming M and Ventura.

I have to ask the obvious question first: On the Aero G, is the device ID being spoofed to that of a 6600?

I tried the device ID for the 6600 in device properties. The same issue, it gets stuck on boot. It works in the Gaming M without spoofing. Also note, my knowledge on spoofing is shaky at best. If I delete device properties for vga, it boots but there is no acceleration but full resolution.

How are you spoofing the device ID? Can you post screenshot(s)?

CaseySJ, thanks for your help. Attached is my config file. This works for both my Z790 Aero G and my Z690 Aero G except for the RX6650 XT. For the other video cards, RX 6900 XT, RX580, RX550 I have no device ID in device properties.

Thanks. When I get home later tonight I’ll try. I forgot to change the 6950 to 6650.

Correction: Device ID should be FF730000 instead of FF73.
