Asus Prime Z590-A
CPU
i9-10900K

hi all, I would like your advice, I come from an asus z97-A, i7 4790k processor and RX580 video card, everything with this build works wonders on Big Sur using as GenBios ImacPro1.1, but I would like to buy a new build and I focused on this:
Motherboard: Asus z590 PRIME A
Processor: Intel i9 10900k or 11900k I am undecided between these 2 processors, as it is true that the 11900k is newer but the 10900k has more cores and more threads to exploit, your advice is welcome.
Video Card: I would like to continue using my RX580 Nitro +
Ram: Corsair Vengeange RGB Pro 2x16gb
For the rest I would use the Samsung 860 Pro sata ssd that I have in my current build
the operating system will always be Big Sur for the moment, and mainly I use it to produce music with Logic Pro X and edit videos with Final Cut
I would like your opinion on this build and if the hackintosh would be able to start on this build, wandering on the forum I seemed to understand that the z590s have problems with integrated graphics acceleration of the processor, but it would be of little interest to me as I would use my RX580 , thank you in advance to those who can help me.

There is no User Build for this motherboard. It may be possible to hack, but you'll be mostly on your own.

If it's a work machine for video and audio, not tied to Mojave by a collection of irreplaceable 32-bit plug-ins, an Apple Silicon Mac may be a better option—with more of a future than any hackintosh.

As far as I understand, audio is mostly single-thread, so extra cores would be for video work.
But don't think only about the CPU: Think platform; think chipset.
400-serie is supported in real Macs. 500-serie is unsupported. Potential issues go beyond the iGPU.

No PCIe 4.0 device (and not even an NVMe drive?), so absolutely no benefit for Z590 over Z490.

Future proof: Real Mac.
If you do want a hackintosh, go Z490 + 10th generation for security (rather i9-10900 or 10850 than 10900K if there's no overclock).
If you do want a hackintosh on "newer" hardware, go all the way to Z690 + Alder Lake. At least there are more user builds for Z690 than there will ever be for Z590.

Good advice from @etorix .

Also bear in mind configuring your USB ports. The Z97 is completely different from a Z590 and you will need to start from scratch BUT since the XhciPortLimit quirk does not work from BS 11.3-on either you will need to use an earlier version so you can map your ports, or struggle. A Z590 USB stack is "unfriendly" to Hackers. I can help with this process in the USB configuration thread, but it is not straight-forward.

We have a guide for USB configuration:

For now leave your Thunderbolt ports until you have USB working correctly.

Remember the USB port for your Bluetooth needs to be set as "FF" or "Internal".

:)

Okay.

I do not have access to your motherboard so can only suggest ideas.

Firstly you have activated all ports HS01 to HS10. I think you should leave a couple of the internal motherboard ports inactive as you probably won't use them, and activate HS13 and HS14 instead. Running Hackintool may then reveal the Bluetooth port, which is commonly HS14. But ... there are always exceptions.

(Prior to Catalina there was an easy way to activate all ports so you could choose which to activate quite easily. This was to install the USBInjectAll.kext v0.7.7 and enable the XhciPortLimit quirk, in the Kernel section of config.plist. This does not work for Big Sur onwards).

macOS knows nothing about 11th gen Intel CPUs so I would use a CPU "spoof" in the Cpuid1Data section of your config.plist, probably to Coffee Lake: EA060900 or EB060900. Cpuid1Mask can be FFFFFFFF for both.

:)

Here is my last map please help me to mapp it properly.... i did it this time with the USBTool box app on windows, bluetooth is working but the wifi is not working at all. the thunderboltex 4 pcie its working with my UAD apollo sound card. im having some Random CPU spikes when im working on my DAW (Ableton live 11) like small stops in the audio and some small audio artefacts some times. ill try with the internal sound card and with the thunderbolt UAD apollo. and is the same problem, so maybe its a video or CPU problem??? or is the usb that is making the glitches or spikes on CPU. here is my EFI folder and i took some Screen shoots.

Hi there,

No, I don't offer support for USBToolBox for Windows or Mac, although I have tested them. You can also use USBMap by CorpNewt as another alternative if you prefer.

I'm glad that Thunderbolt is working without configuration. There is an Intel chipset that controls it and looking at your Hackintool screengrab we can see more depth - and also potential problems...

The first two USB ports in your UTBMap.kext are the Thunderbolt 2 ones - HS01 and SS01. Unusual that you have set them as UsbConnector type "255" which is Internal. Unusual that you have another SS01 set as TypeC+SW. Unusual again in that I don't see any TypeC USB ports on your motherboard. The only rational explanation I can think of for this is that you have an add-on USB card in place?

If not then I recommend using Hackintool to create a new USBPorts.kext now that you have a bootable macOS system.

DID you manage to map the A z590 correctly??
