It's looping here.

I've created the USB installer using a genuine iMac (late 2013, Catalina 10.15.7)

Then use that to edit your EFI.

To start with only install USBInjectAll.kext and enable it on your USB. Do not use the XhciPortLimit quirk or an SSDT-UIAC.

Test boot to see if the USB/XHCI looping continues. You should get further but not all USB ports will be active yet.

Yes, I've been using the mac to edit the EFI all along. I found it easier to build the USB Installer.
Things are moving on (I guess). I got stuck after some USB initialization, then after a minute, the prohibited sign appeared (got it every time I set the XhciPortLimit to false).

Quick video of the boot.
I've tried every port. Each time it does recognize the device plugged. But it stays stuck.

Thanks for helping!
I hope this is okay to post here, on this guide. If my issue is getting too much room, I can create a proper thread.

Yes, you should create your own problem thread in the Support forum.

When you do, upload a copy of your EFI folder. Blank out your serial numbers and uuid from config.plist. I can move these posts over.

Just to give you a positive ...

The motherboard and CPU in your Profile are hackintosh compatible and there's no serious reason why it would not boot - with correct settings. Remove any peripherals and Windows disks while testing.

Hi,

I've been trying to get to the Disk Utility in order to install macOS for my very first Hackintosh. After dozens of EFI modifications, I was not able to get my mouse and keyboard working once arrived at the Recovery Mode.
By digging more, I found that the problem was the USB ports.

Following some threads, carefully checking my BIOS settings, and applying the advice from people on another thread, I've been able to get more troubleshooting information.

My machine is fairly simple:

- Asus TUF-GAMING Z490 PLUS (Wifi)
- Intel i9 10900K (Along with a Kraken x63)
- Samsung EVO 980 1 To

I have no other parts.

I'm now stuck at the end of some USB initialization, then come the prohibited sign:

The last line is:
Code:
matching deferred by IOUSBHOSTHIDdevice

I've tried the USB Installer on every port available. Same for the keyboard and the mouse.
I'm kinda lost.

Thanks for your help!

See the EFI attached below.

i have moved your posts for you

assumed you have tried another usb2.0 stick? what make/model are you currently using?

I'm going to try a bunch of new USB sticks. It's just taking time to compile :D
I will post once I've tried those!
