As I said I'm looking for a donor so if you have any knowledge regarding that it would be great.
When the HDD is connected to power, does it spin up or does it do nothing ?

It spins up and then makes, what I understand to be, the click of death noise

Then replacing the PCB with a donor won't help you get your data back.
What country are you located in ?

That's kinda why I'm looking for a complete drive. I'm in the UK.

It doesn't have to be the exact same drive you have now. The data recovery companies need something of an equal or larger size to recover your data to. So other brands of 3.5 HDD can be used. If the co. you choose for data recovery says you must use the exact same drive then that's what you'll have to find.

I have no knowledge of the companies in the UK that do this. Maybe some of the moderators from the UK might know some possible choices.

Ha! Beat me to it. I saw this one:

Unfortunately these I don't fit the bill. My drive is a 2017 and one is 2018 one 2020 and not sure about the 3rd.
Date of the drive is kinda key as from what I understand it relates to firmware.

I use a company based in Los Angeles that charges very reasonable rates, no kidney donations needed. The problem with that is that when you ship mechanical HDDs in the mail you have no control over how they are handled. Even more damage to the drives can occur. Let us know how it all works out for you.
