That tacked on VAT is really painful.
yep, VAT can be crazy unless you are VAT registered and can claim it back

Only took nearly forever, to get a built in 1080p camera. Wow !

Not a huge fan of the white bezels/chin but it's growing on me. I'm guessing the more muted colors (space grey, silver) will be on the 31.5" or whatever iMac Pro?

Uhmmm...It´s a mid-upgrade.The core is an M1 processor and only 8Gb of RAM.The M1 is not a bad processor but I expected some more powerful for the iMac series.
The design is not bad, extremely thin.
I will keep my iMac 27" intel processor for a time and my Hack too.

I couldn't help thinking how totally un-upgradable the line-up is. To get that thin there has to be SM memory and SSD. At least with the M1 Mac Mini you can actually open it and look inside. I guess that's not possible with these iMacs.

The speakers seem quite clever, but iMac speakers have always performed faily well. To get them into 11.5mm must be similar to those periscope optical zooms in mobile-phones.

We spoke about a power-bricks before. No problem with that as you can easily buy a second if you need to.

Magic mouse looks the same as the previous just in more colours. The touch-ID keyboard is interesting but I want an extended keyboard!

If pushed colour would have to be silver. But with a black frame to the screen. Maybe some enterprising 3rd-party will come up with a black frame sticker!

The shrinking of the logic board is the most impressive change compared to the last gen iMacs. A fraction of the size. And it only has two miniscule fans to keep it cool. Noise level is just 10 db. Amazing.

Here you'll see it compared to the size of the total AL enclosure.

The interior looks much cleaner and elegant than the last gen iMacs it's replacing. Steve Jobs would really be proud of this design. Look at that awesome cable management ! Who can make any desktop PC look that good on the interior ?

Compare the above to an old 2009 Silver (AL) iMac. A lot less materials used.

Just use some black electrical tape. Simple fix.

Think Apple would send the boys round for corrupting their design ethic!!

This is a well done video on the new iMac. Don't know how he wrote and filmed and produced it that quickly. Then uploading it to YT. In about one hour after the event finished.

Yeah, unfortunately, I think all Macs going forward will be pretty much disposable products with nothing (realistically) upgradeable.

That's why it's even more important than ever to make wise decisions when choosing options.
