The Dell OptiMac Big Sur/OpenCore Thread - For 7020/9020 Optiplex Desktops

I am having a couple of issues with my install of Big Sur. I have a 9020 MT with a RX 480. When I boot from the RX 480 I get the verbose text but as soon as it goes to the apple loading screen it goes black. If I boot from iGPU it will fully boot up. I can also switch the display port cable over to the RX480 after booting from the iGPU and the RX 480 works. Is there something I am missing to boot from the RX 480 directly? Also, the sound is only working through the display port. I would like to make it work on the back panel but no device is shown. I must have missed something as others show the sound working? Any help is much appreciated. New at this.

Your config.plist DeviceProperties section is not complete yet.

Look at my attached "example" config.plist and make the same changes there to yours.

Don't just copy/paste the example config.plist as it's not complete.

I am a little lost. Sorry, this is my first attempt at hackintosh. I tried changing the layout-id to 13 and it made no difference. I assume that's the audio issue or are we discussing the RX480? Also not sure which "attached example" you are talking about?

Did you make all these changes yet ? As I said learning to edit a .plist is essential. Copy pasting another's EFI folder is not a good idea. This all takes time to learn don't be in a hurry to get done.

I did not. I also came here from another guide. I didn't copy anything. These were created by following that guide. Trying to understand the meanings of everything. Egar to learn :)

Great, learning is what we're all about here at tmx86.

Here's where you're missing the three ACPI patches that are mandatory. My guide goes over this. Post #3 near the end of step 4 I believe.

I think I have done this correctly and still no changes to either problem. I have attached my config.plist file to take a look at. Thank you!
