pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

Not sure if this is the right place to post for support:
Just put together my new hack, but got problems with setting up BIOS accordingly. I don't have >Graphics Configuration menu in >Advanced Items.

I first started with optimized defaults (as in https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...alina-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.285366/), but couldn't make it to the installer, got stuck on 'pci configuration end bridges 5 devices 13'.

Are you using one of the EFI folders from post #1 of this thread?

Hi pastrychef,

Thanks for your contribution to the community.

I am using Asus Z370-A + i9-9900K +RX580 and would like to use iMacPro1,1 in this build as I don't use Sidecar. Could you advise which of your EFI be more suitable to start with and what other adaptions are need for the build?
  • EFI Clover r5122 Z370G.zip
  • EFI Clover r5122 Z390M.zip
Thanks.

Try using the Z370 OpenCore 0.6.2 EFI.

Go to config.plist > DeviceProperties > Add and delete all the devices there except the Audio.
Go to config.plist > Kernel > Add and disable USBPorts.kext.
Go to config.plist > Kernel > Quirks and enable XhciPortLimit.

It should work fine for you with those changes.

No, i was just using the original EFI. Which one do you suggest?

Since you are on Z390, I suggest trying the EFI from post #4 of my Z390 build. Link is below in my signature.

Which version of OpenCore are you using?

Are you using an old config.plist with a new version of OpenCore? If so, don't do this. Use the config.plist included with the EFI folder. Just copy/paste your Serial, Board Serial, UUID, and MAC address to the new config.plist.
I'm using your latest efi folder, just pasted my data into the config.plist I didn't update anything beside the folder

Please post your EFI as you currently have it.

Hi @pastrychef,

I downloaded the OpenCore 0.6.2 ZIP file for the Z370-G and installed it on a Catalina USB thumbdrive built using gibMacOS. The OpenCore bootloader starts, but none of the boot partitions are visible. The only options that I see are to reset the NVRAM and the check that MSR 0xE2 is unlocked.

The motherboard is indeed a ASUS ROG Z370-G/i7 7700K/Vega56 that used to run an install with clover. But I moved my main system to a Z490 motherboard build and figured I'd start from scratch with the Z370-G so I could give it to a friend. There is an NVME drive in the system with Windows installed (that doesn't show in the bootloader either).

Any thoughts on debugging steps? I've gone back pretty far in this thread, but nothing is jumping out. My config.plist is attached (I haven't changed the ROM to use the MAC address, but that should not be affecting OpenCore's ability to boot...)
