Still cloudy but don't stress, it's all good.Right so logically I was responding to the second line of the post.
And Developer beta 3!
Did you ever get an answer about the Ivy Bridge processors? Even if the i3 and i5 Ivy's won't work, what about some of the higher end i7 processors? My understanding is that the i7s are more like the 4th generation i3, i5 and i7s?Did they drop support for Ivy Bridge? That would be a shame.
What about a late 2012 i7 Intel processor in a motherboard that generally supports third generation Intel I processors? Why do you assume that?
I'm running a Ivy Bridge hackintosh, currently with an iMac 2013 profile. But I kinda do expect to bump that up to 2014 when necessary.
You cannot put 3rd gen Ivy Bridge CPUs into H or Z87/97 4th gen motherboards. The socket was changed. Only 2nd and 3rd gen CPUs are interchangeable.on't some boards allow you to use either generation 3 or generation 4 processors in them?
Thanks! What about a late 3rd generation i7 processor on an IvyBridge capable motherboard? Will that run macOS Big Sur?You cannot put 3rd gen Ivy Bridge CPUs into H or Z87/97 4th gen motherboards. The socket was changed. Only 2nd and 3rd gen CPUs are interchangeable.
