[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

First I would try booting with the -v or verbose setting in Clover, hit the space bar and then google down to check that setting and then back up to boot with that option. It should show you where its hanging and give you a better idea of what's going on. You can post a picture of the screen if that helps. You can also load windows onto a USB hard Drive, search google for How To...
Hi Lee,
Thanks for your reply.
Here is a screenshot of what I got when booting old EFI setup with new BIOS.
Unfortunately, it does not help me too much about the actual issue : I must say that I do not use APFS right now in my setup.
Hope this helps.

Regards, G.G.

Sounds like this is your issue:

USB Bluetooth and WLAN stick from Edimax EW-7611.
I'll test and report.

So, Edimax is offering Mac drivers for 10.15
Bildschirmfoto 2020-03-08 um 20.05.11.png

and WLAN is working with this. Sort of slow, seams 2.4GHz, USB2, 54MBit/s don't expect to much.
What I can't figure out to work is Bluetooth.
macOS Drivers won't recognise the Edimax stick and Edimax doesn't provide BT drivers :|.

In result, not really a product to recommend.

ON the Amazon page here in the US it says Bluetooth not supported in Mac, only Windows. :-X

Hi Lee,

Google was indeed my friend here : the culprit was this error apfs_module_start:1279,
even in High Sierra and Mojave , and the fix was easy to get to : cf post-1959209, from BlackHack13

It was not OS version dependant, but more BIOS version dependant.

But, in fine, I do not know yet if the HDMI bug was fixed or not.

Thanks for your guidance, Regards, Gilbert.

Yep, glad that worked for you.

It works, there is an option in the bios to choose which display adapter is primary or secondary (Thunderbolt or HDMI). One caveat is not all monitors behave the same, good chance it will work for the risked cost of the adapter though.

Worked perfectly! Came up as a second monitor immediately when I plugged it in. Changed the bios settings and it's showing up fine now as the primary screen. I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QW5QDHB/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

Full resolution and only $10!

There is a program named WintoUSB that is free, then you just need the windows .iso and a USB Drive and you can run windows for free. Slow but does the trick

I am not able to get OpenCore v0.5.5 to work on an Intel NUC7i5BNH. I want to use OpenCore if I can.

I got Mojave to install. After the first reboot, the setup wizard opens and the NUC immediately reboots. I tried to stop this by setting AppleCpuPmCfgLock and AppleXcpmCfgLock to true. This didn’t work right way. I had to also disable Legacy Boot. Then it worked.

After that, the computer would boot to the setup wizard and not crash, but the keyboard and mouse plugged into the back of the NUC would not work. I cannot move the pointer or use the arrow keys. I tried to set KeySupport to true (remove AppleUsbKbDxe) and to false (add AppleUsbKbDxe), but the keyboard and mouse still did not work.

I have BIOS 81 installed, the latest. I could install a different BIOS.

I could not find a way to change Cfg Lock in the BIOS. I searched the BIOS with UEFITool but did not find “Cfg Lock” there to make a patch.

I have read the OpenCore Vanilla Guide and the troubleshooting section. I have also gone through a lot of this thread and done other searching. It is possible I missed something important.

Is there a way I can get Cfg Lock to be off/patched and still use the keyboard and mouse on a NUC7i5BNH?
