Good News: The WhateverGreen/Shiki FAQ document was updated (credit to vit9696). Now without the need to switch to a different SMBIOS (I'm using iMac 17,1 AAPL,ig-platform-id 0100001219) I have working Apple TV+ and Netflix on Safari using the boot argument shikigva=80

For more info read FAQ.Shiki.en.md at the WhateverGreen GitHub web page.:lol::thumbup:
I tried shikigva=80 without success. What can I try? I can see trailer but not shows

It's not just using a shikigva boot argument. You must meet all the requirements as describe in the WhateverGreen manual (FAQ.Shiki.en.md). You should also read FAQ.IntelHD.en.md and check out the FAQ.Chart.md
I need more details. Which SMBIOS you are using? How you have your UEFI/BIOS settings configure? Is IGPU enable? Did you set your DGPU as the primary graphics card?
shikigva=80 is recommended for iMac and Macmini SMBIOS's using IGPU enable (don't use in auto mode). Also use a connector-less/headless platform-id when using IGPU together with DGPU.

Thanks for your response...
At the moment I should have only the 5700 XT activated. iOn the attached files you'll find all details.
My configuration/bios is the same of this one.

sorry I forgot to quote you!

I assume the platform-id is properly set by whatevergreen. I verified with Hackintool that it is on my system.

But although I have almost exactly the same setup as you have, and boot with shikigva=80, I don't have luck with netflix/amazon prime video on safari. Netflix routes to a help page explaining how to install silverlight and amazon prime video just gives "unsupported plugin". Silverlight is deprecated and no longer an option on Catalina as it is 32-bit only. However. those sites seemingly insist on using it and not the HTML 5 player of safari.

Apple TV works fine both with downloaded and streamed content. But it does this with shikgva=16 as well.
Your platform-id should look like this:

You can also check the info with hackintool, look:

Also, make sure you have the latest Lilu and WhateverGreen kexts. As of today, the latest one's are not available yet for download, and those have new fixes related with your issue. But you can compile the latest ones yourself and is very easy if you have xcode installed together with hackintool.

On that BIOS configuration you mention, I notice primary display is set to auto when it should be set to DGPU. Only connect monitors to DGPU when using connector less platform-id.

Also I think the multimonitor should be disable when using DGPU with a platform-id in connector-less/headless mode because none monitors are suppose to be connect to IGPU when using connector less platform-id.

@tecnicasopr,

Incorrect ... if MultiMonitor Mode is not enabled then the IGPU will be disabled if a dGPU is present and set as primary.
The BIOS does not know about headless mode only if the IGPU should be enabled or not. The Headless configuration is performed by MacOS via WEG (or Clover) not by the BIOS.

I've always found the term Multi-Monitor Mode to be a bad description of what the function actually does.
It should really be called "Mixed GPU" mode (IE: IGPU + dGPU)

If you intend to use the IGPU as headless and the BIOS has a Multi-Monitor mode setting then it should be enabled.

Cheers
Jay

Thanks for clarifying. I assumed that multimonitor is what the term implies, the use of both graphics with multiple monitors. But this is ASUS and is different from Gigabyte. I didn't know that turning multimonitor off will also disable IGPU. Thanks for telling me.

So I’m a little bit confused. What should I change to have Apple TV+?
