I know this has been voiced over and over again but I would suggest before embarking on any upgrade or install, insure you're running the latest Clover and all kexts are the very latest. If you're doing an install via MultiBeast/UniBeast wait for the latest version/versions unless advised otherwise by TM Developers.

Regarding upgrading or doing a clean install - If your current installation is a bit flaky, installing over that will also be flaky, bearing in mind a few bugs may be still in the new version until ironed out with updates. With every new major OS X versions released, I have always opted for a clean install, simply to rid the OS of any misconfigurations being ported over but that's my habit, if your current installation is stable and boots fine then by all means, do an upgrade over it.

The key is thinking clearly how to approach all the steps to take before rushing into it.
With all being said Good luck.

Note - Having a spare 120GB SSD has paid me dividends for testing before committing to my main drive.

Works great on my Z77x chip-set boards using the upgrade method from within the Mojave OS (with supported OOB comptible video cards i.e. GTX780/RX470).

Existing Clover 4934 boots installer, finds pre-loader partitions all by itself, and runs through a couple reboots along the way. result at end: full audio function (ALC method inherited fine), full video function, NVME and SSD trim, etc.

sys one: GA-Z77X-UD5H with RX470 (triple monitors via 3 display port connections)
sys two: ASUS P8Z77-M with GTX780

Have you got Nvidia gtx card supported out of the box??!! OMG.. So it is possible!
Any kext to share for that?

I had launch problems when updating or transferring data from Mojave. A clean installation without transferring data and programs allows to start system normally.

Sidecar requires iPad models with support for Apple Pencil,
Thank you for the hint. I just have an iPad Air 2 so that won't work.
