[Guide] HP ProBook/EliteBook/Zbook using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Status
Not open for further replies.
I am using a Probook 450 G5 (Kabe Lake CPU) and Keyboard & Mouse won't wake PC from sleep. It will work only if I press on power button.

Wake options in bios has been disable :
- disable "Extended Idle Power States" if you find it under "Power Management Options"
- disable "Wake on LAN" and "Wake on USB"

Hibernation has been disable

I have tried the following options in config.plist:
XML:
<key>Inject</key>
<true/>
<key>AddClockID</key>
<false/>

I also disconnected the power cable to see if it makes a difference..nope

Anybody else with similar laptop having issues? Any advice?

Hey, I'm thinking about getting either the 840 or 850 G5. What all is and isn't working on your build? I currently have the 850 G2, but I'm unsure of the extent to which this guide is compatible with the newer versions since everything is "experimental."

I have the 450 G5, and everything works.

Thanks but no luck.

Regarding the headphones not showing up in Sound Preferences...Can you please take a screenshot of your DPCIManager so I can compare? Here's mine:

Sadly the 8x0 g5 has no files in the guide, using the g4 files works but trackpad is not working and trackpoint (the little button inside the keyboard .. ) makes the system unresponsive and need hw reboot. The trackpad works with the alternative smartps2 driver but i had to enable windows moving in accessibility and gestures do not work, even though double click on trackpad works as right click . The build quality of the probook g5 is a lot worst but as long as you get a FHD screen they should be all ips and with the dsdt edit for audio jack ( i cant find it now but its here around page 120 ) everything works great.

ok thx, voodooi2c working well on ProBook 450 g5 with Mojave now.

what I did:

git fetch -all
git checkout i2c
./download.sh
./install_downloads.sh
./build.sh
copy the newly created config_4x0s_G5_Kabylake-R to EFI/Clover (why 4x0s? the other one, made by the master aka not i2c branch, was config_4x0_G5_Kabylake-R, without the "s")
./install_acpi.sh install_4x0g5_kabylake-r
reboot

and voodooi2c working :)

now that the i2c-branch config.plist is "completely" different to the one from the master-branch, what do you suggest? keeping the i2c one, which does the job for voodooi2c or adapt changes to the newer one done by the master?

now that this is working, next step is making iTunes drm (=iTunes Radio Beats 1) work. for now with the current whatever green.kext it isn't working.

and next step+1 would be installing 10.4.2, which obv. boots faster.

challenges on hackintosh never stop :)

thx so much RehabMan!!

Cheerio!

EDIT: but i‘m in trouble now: with the config generated by the i2c branch, sound is now longer working (Conexant codec). Swapping i2c config plist with master config plist isnt enough to bring sound back (and disable i2c again). Also copying the master ssdts back to efi/clover/acpi/patched isnt enough - Neither trackpad nor keyboard working anymore.
Btw, the i2c branch config plist is identical to my working config.plist from HighSierra.

EDIT 2: added Problem Reporting Files, booted with the config.plist generated by the i2c branch, ssdt by i2c branch, voodooi2c working, but sound not working, and iTunes Radio/drm not working. thx for checking!

Hello w00ta,
I mentioned, that you solved issues with your ProBook and I2C touchpad. I found, that you probably solved it by i2c branch in RehabMan repo. I have EliteBook 850 G5 also with I2C touchpad and I can't get it to work. So I want to ask you, that you simply get it to work with i2c branch in RehabMan repo or you need to do something more.

Thank you.

It didn't work for me.
