[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Please note that your drivers64UEFI folder has the following 2 memory drivers:
  • AptioMemoryFix-64
  • OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000
Only one memory driver is usable at a time, so AptioMemoryFix-64 should be deleted.

I've removed AptioMemoryFix-64 from my drivers64UEFI folder and the restart as well as the shutdown function still do not work...

Do you have Windows partition installed? If you have, are you able to shutdown or restart properly when on Windows?

I updated the previous reply with a modified config.plist for you to try. Can you post a screenshot of your /Library/Extensions folder?

One more thing, that only now noticed.... my system is not recognising the sound card... any clue how to solve this one?
Some questions:
  • In System Information --> Audio, do you see the built-in audio inputs and outputs?
  • Have you installed both Lilu and AppleALC.kext into /Library/Extensions folder and set Inject Kexts to Detect in Clover Configurator --> System Parameters?
  • Have you set Layout ID to 16 -- or used the Device --> Properties method to inject audio? This is explained here.

@CaseySJ Thanks & Yes, I already had SSDT-Z390-DESIGNARE-NO-CNVW.aml in CLOVER/ACPI/patched, and still no WiFi or Bluetooth was working. So I took out all M.2 drives and my SSD, put one 250GB M.2 in and installed MS 10 Home, got everything working in Windows, and then reinstalled MACOS on the 500GB M.2 and now Bluetooth and WiFi work excellent. I figured this would be needed and wala it was. :)
That sounds a bit odd! The Broadcom 94360 WiFi/BT card should not require Windows in order to initialize properly.

1) I Don't see any built in or out on sound prefs or system information. Just HDMI audio (that I can play on my monitor)
2) I have last versions of Lilu and AppleALC on /Library /extentions. I had 'Yes' instead of 'Detect' on system Parameters in Clover configurator. Just changed for Detect.
3) I had before inject 7 on audio inject under Devices (as you previous instructions maybe?), but after revised your instructions again this afternoon, I've updated to inject 16. (attached screenshot)

After changing from yes to detect on point 2 and restart the system I still don't see my sound inputs or outputs.

EDIT:
After reading carefully your last post again, I changed the settings as per instrucions on 'Inject Audio Layout only'. Please seen new screenshot. After reboot, still no luck :(

EDIT 2: After Several different trials, what worked for me was to download a new file of AppleALC.kext, but this time from 1.3.7.DEBUG instead of 1.3.7.RELEASE, and installed and runned a new version of Kext Utility, this time version 2.6.6 (was before on 2.5.0b)

I don't know which one exactly solved the problem, but both of them together worked.

Thank you!

I tried your attached config.plist file and restart and shutdown are function correctly. Maybe it's because I've properly shut it down with the on/off button instead of pressing reset and trying it again and again. Anyway, this problem's fixed now. Thanks!

The Broadcom 94360 WiFi/BT card should not require Windows in order to initialize properly.
TH3 ports need Windows first to activate but not the BCM94360CD card. It's natively supported because the 2013 iMacs used them. Therefore, no need for prior use in Windows for it to be recognized.

Thunderbolt ports on an add-in-card currently require Windows in order to activate, but on the Designare Z390, the built-in Thunderbolt controller is completely Windows-free!

The GC-Titan Ridge add-in-card, for example, requires:
  • Windows to activate
  • USB data connection to motherboard
  • Thunderbolt 3 header connection to motherboard
  • Two PCI power cables from power supply
  • One PCIe x4 slot
  • No internal connection to IGPU. A video cable must be connected from an external video port to one of the miniDP inputs.
  • Ugly mess of wires :)
The built-in Titan Ridge controller on Designare Z390 requires absolutely none of the above! I still think this motherboard is a tremendous bargain even at $270. The external Titan Ridge card is $100 by itself.
