[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hi @Stork,

MultiBeast 11.0.1 is prescribed for post-installation, but it does not yet support MacMini8,1 system definition. So we use MultiBeast with iMac14,2 and subsequently run Clover Configurator to change the definition to MacMini8,1.

Good news. MultiBeast v11.1.0 is due out any time now with the new SysDefs.

I believe you're missing USBInjectAll.kext. This is still required in order to use the USB SSDT. We recommend installing all third party kexts into /Library/Extensions and setting "Inject Kexts" to "Detect" in Clover Configurator. The CLOVER/kexts/Other folder should contain a bare minimum kexts such as:
  • FakeSMC
  • Lilu
  • WhateverGreen
  • IntelMausiEthernet

Now that I've added the USBInjectAll.kext, the mouse and keyboard work. Thanks!

I removed all the current kexts I had in the "Other" EFI folder folder to the /Library/Extensions folder and then I removed all the kexts from the "Other" so that only FakeSMC (I removed FakeSMC****sensor kexts), Lilu, WhateverGreen and IntelMausiEthernet remained there. I also changed the Inject Kexts option to "Detect". I couldn't the system. Had to reinsert all the kexts into the "Other" folder once again so that it boots up correctly. What did I do wrong?

Did you rebuild the kernel cache after copying Kexts to /L/E folder? This is done easily just by launching Kext Utility.

Thanks! This helped me get to the login screen, but then I encountered the USB keyboard/mouse problem once again.

USBInjectAll.kext is inside my /L/E folder and I rebuilt the cache, yet it still fails to recognize my mouse and keyboard. Should the USBInjectAll.kext remain in the other folder?

well i cant get the Fenvi here .... i could buy that one : https://www.amazon.de/s?k=BCM94360C..._DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&ref=nb_sb_noss&tag=tonymacx8603-21

and i would need the most silent one: https://www.mindfactory.de/search_result.php?select_search=0&search_query=AMD+RX+570

which one would you recommend ?

I would not go with that card, it beoke my sleep and several others as well. Check this on this forum by searching: abwb. The Fenvie is available via Aliexpress, they ship worldwide. Make sure to get the fenvie, gives you less problems...

@rj510 posted some settings that worked for a troublesome RX 590. Worth an attempt...

I just got it booting again:

I got my usb mojave installer, update Clover to the latest version (r4910), Lilu, WhateverGreen, AppleALC, your post installations files, set up my config.plist with almost same settings as before (same Serial Number, SMBIOS, etc). I just disabled IGPU in BIOS again and also setup Clover config the same way you say in the spoiler about pro video/audio apps.

It booted perfectly from the USB.

But now, I can't login. After I insert my password I got the spinning icon forever. Already tried to boot in Safe Mode and it's the same. The only way it boots is when choosing Guest User.

Two points:
  • If you have an older version of Clover, it may be a good idea to update to latest version.
  • I also recommend Step 7 of this guide to installing 3rd party kexts.

Now it's working!

I could update Clover and all kexts via Guest User and now my computer is bootable without any USB again and I'm able to login.

Thanks for everyone here sharing experiences :)
