The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

Thanks, fixing it today. I'll be back posting the results

EDIT 1 :

Changing back WiFi card to WD1820a. I had airport card from MacBook Air, but I removed the top heating element from mobo (that card is double the size+adapter).

Reset the BIOS to defaults, and I can boot.

Now WiFi works OOB without kext (no BT). Fixing it now + changing back the BIOS settings. We will see what happens

EDIT 2 :

Everything works again, this card (DW1820A) is awesome, need brcmfixup/patchram2/repo and done.
Those are already in the EFI. Using BrcmFirmwareData means you installed in /Library/Extensions/ folder. Had you followed the guide you wouldn't have had that issue because it worked for @saik13 .

I find a lot of builders "outsmart" themselves by jumping all over the place and integrating conflicting advice into their methodology which ultimately leads to failure and more importantly, frustration.

The reason I know this is that was me in the beginning, as you can see from about 40 pages of this thread. I finally took the time to research everything option and kext I was using and then everything just worked. It also helped me sort fact from myth.

Please don't get me wrong, I have no issue with you doing that and am happy it works for you, it just makes helping people out harder for me.

Welcome to the club, I am marking you as succeeded!

1) Clicked on the DMG file
2) Just dragged HWMonitor.aap to Finder/Applications
3) Doubleclicked on it
4) Set it up so it starts when logging in
5) Set it up so it shows CPU Package in the taskbar

I presume this is correct?

Yes but you should see more. Can you send me a screenshot of what you see and another screenshot of what is in your clover /Other folder please? IF you are using an AIO and depending on your BIOS setup you may not see fans.

To all thread participants: I've been updating the guide multiple times a day to include new information and make it more readable. One of the biggest changes was to The great Kext Schism spoiler in my Methodology section of the guide.

Many people took great offense to my advice but MOST debated the facts, which is the best way to get to the bottom of things. I consistently asked if it was ok to have this position and was told yes. It seems like we can agree to disagree and that is huge in these types of communities. I say this to avoid another round of back and forth that will confuse and alienate people.

That being said, I wanted to clarify my reasoning and do a little more research. I reached out to the WEG developers and did some more research that led me to rewrite my position piece to make sure people understand WHY I, and a few others, believe what we believe.

In the end, most of this threads builders are the best proof that it works at the present. We will see what the future will hold so I hope you report back with your experiences. Please check the details in post#1, I will also be posting it in the thread that was started for that purpose.

@silentone I'm sure I already asked this but what brand is your GPU?

Hi.
Sorry for the confusion.
I just commented that RX 590 Nitro+ is on sale in My local store.
I have not bought it.
So hence still on iGPU.

Now I get it. I usually understand things really quickly, as long as you explain it for a really long time!

You screen looks good but no fan speeds. Do you have an AIO? Where are your fans plugged into the motherboard? Did you disable them in BIOS?

Cheers.

My AIO is connected to the CPU pwm header and it's set to its Auto mode frome its Dial.
The motherboard just handled regulating too poorly for My taste.

(Fractal Celsius S24 - https://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/water-cooling/celsius-s24).
Please look at how this AIO is configured, to see why it is how it is.

1 case fan is connected to chassis fan header.

@ModMike was there anything else you had to do to get WIFI card recognized other than making sure it was inserted properly into the slot and loading the appropriate kexts? Mojave does not detect any WiFi, and I know for sure it’s inserted properly? I disabled the serial com port; I don’t think that has anything to do with this.

I thought it may have not been inserted deep enough into the slot but it is.

Do you at least see the wifi icon when you boot? And what card?
