[Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

Hello there,

I've recently completed an almost exact same build. Major difference being the video card which is a GTX 1080.
I followed the guide plus the recommended Nvidia workflow.
I am however experiencing random shutdowns/crashes(not in Windows).
I have a hard time finding out how to diagnose this.
Can anyone point me into the right direction? (if I need to share something like config files or BIOS screencaps, let me know.)

Which version of Mac OS are you running? What kext do you have in Library/Extensions? Could you upload your config.plist?

Should have read here first before trying 12c. Can confirm it absolutely will not boot for anything. All settings same as 11, but it'll never boot. shame.

Thanks @HackaShaq for making this such an easy process.

EDIT: Solved the issue by loading Z370 Device Patch and then ALC1220 in MultiBeast

Hi All!

I just wanted to provide an update on my hackintosh build. I was the lucky guy that had my motherboard catch on fire... Well, I still had 10 days left to return it to NewEgg for an exchange and that is exactly what I did. NewEgg spent some time checking out the board and then sent me a brand new replacement with no questions asked. Luckily it seems like all of my other components are not damaged and it was just a freak issue with the board. I have put the computer back together using the new motherboard along with a brand new power supply and the system is working great again! I have attached another photo of the damaged board below for reference.

Hi JimmaKos, Thanks for helping out.

It's running 10.13.6 (17G65)
I've added my config.plist and a screenshot of the extensions folder.

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

First of all do a back up of your current configuration.
Install Lilu + Whatevergren kext via kextbeast to L/E and try the config I attached.

Thanks a lot. I have a clone on a second drive. So I can revert back if this breaks things.
Can you explain what you've changed in the config and what the lilu does?

I'v changed your system definition to iMac 18.3, added patches that Mac OS expect to see, enable PluginType for cpu power management. Removed inject intel. You will be ok without it. Lilu and its plugins it has to do a lot with graphics issues.

Inject intel is for the intergrated gpu?
