Is the USB flash drive Thunderbolt or just USB 3.1 with C connector?
It's just USB 3.1, but it did not appear until after the two SSDTs were applied. But more importantly, look at the System Report --> PCI screenshot. My OWC Thunderbolt 3 14-port dock arrives tomorrow -- one day earlier than expected -- so I'll do more testing then.

Yea as far as I know those are just Cosmetic and caused by the SSDT file, I have been able to do as much but not get my drive to be HotPlug. Who knows maybe the hot plug is actually working and just not with my G-drive and since it is the only device I have I assume it is not working.

I also can not see spending that much on a Hub when I only have 1 TB Device and no USB C..

There’s not much else I can test now while I wait for my TB3 dock to arrive. But I am encouraged by the fact that the flash drive is working. IORegistryExplorer shows it attached to the Thunderbolt drivers.

Yep mine also even without the SSDT files. There is no debate really about getting the OS to see that the TB3 card is there, the problem is that it does not understand how to HotPlug :( or sleep. Once it sleeps it improperly ejects the drives. If I had a bunch of TB devices I would likely disable sleep and just leave everything plugged in and shut down every night. Maybe I should move the card into another PCI slot, Right now I have it in the third full length PCI-E slot because that does not share with my GPU like the second one and it is the x4 slot.

Having just read about 50 pages of forum posts on TB3 hot plugging and sleep/wake, I know that’s the main issue for most people — but it wasn’t the main issue for me.

The main issue for me was to get something — anything — plugged into the TB port to be recognized by the OS. This simply didn’t happen without the SSDT. You said your flash drive was mountable without SSDT, but that was not the case here.

What TB3 card are you using on your Gaming 5 Z370?

Titan Ridge.

I just went to the store and purchased a USB 3.1 Flash drive with USB-C plug, hot plug USB 3.1 and monitors though I am not sure how much the card affects those.

I also noticed in the IO explorer that the 3.1 that is hot pluggable, listed ejectable and removable set to True; The TB2 Device that is not hot pluggable listed Ejectable and Removable is set to False.

Maybe this has something to do with why I can not hot Plug the TB2 device.

Thank you for the updates!
Hope you manage to make a build guide when you get it all working.
This board combined with the RX580 and a i7-8700k is what I'm looking at for building an DAW / Audio workstation with an Apollo 8P Thunderbolt card. If TB3 works, I'll be ordering one ASAP.

It works just Hotplug and sleep being an issue.

Have you tested TB3, or only USB-C? I thought those are different?
I don't really need the hotplug, as my devices are plugged from the get go.
