How to build your own iMac Pro [Successful Build/Extended Guide]

Hello guys,

I have a big problem (In the middle of an important job :() that is more likely hardware related and not hackintosh related, but maybe someone here can help me out.

My system which has been running stable since I built it turned off today out of nowhere and wont turn on again. I was just web browsing, nothing load heavy or anything. When I say it wont turn on I mean absolutely nothing happens when I push the on/off button, external or internal, no bios, no leds not anything, the RGB leds stay on as soon as I turn on the power supply but thats it. I suspected it was a faulty PSU but I switched it with a known working one and I got the same.

Any ideas before I return the board?

My i9-7980XE is delidded anyway. Thus, I expect to gain just a minimal improvement in CPU temperature performance, if at all.

Which thermal material was used? A product called "liquid metal" (probably: gallium; turns liquid at room temperature) appears to provide significantly better cooling properties, compared to other solutions.
See: "My CPU dropped *20 DEGREES* after my first delidding"

1.) CMOS reset?
2.) Reflashing BIOS with EZ Flashback?

Already tried both  what is odd is absolutely nothing happens when turning on the motherboard, no failed post, no codes on the Q-Code Leds, nothing.

Asus Prime X299 Deluxe R.I.P.? You checked all power connections, RAM and PCIe contacts?

Nothing more that could be done I guess..

Yeah I guess it just died, I checked all power connections, switched power cables, swiched PSU, reseated ram, tried with different ram, reseated PCIe, but no luck.

The bright side is it is still covered by warranty but man, just in the middle of a very busy week :(

Thanks for taking the time to answer.

Grizzly Conductonaut, i.e. Liquid Metal.

Hi guys!

Does someone knows if this card :
SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 DirectX 12 100410NT+SR 8GB 2048-Bit HBM2 PCI Express 3.0 Video Card

should have the same implementation like the limited edition from this guide?

I mean it works just fine but after the computer sleeps a few times it wakes to a black screen and nothing but a hard reset works o_O. Sound works over DP

Thanks

I do not use the limited but standard edition of the SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64. I don't think that your sporadic black screen issues on wake have something to do with the Vega. It might be rather CPU, USB or PCIe related. Something might cause a KP on wake occasionally. You will have to figure out which component causes the issue. Very likely it is still the Titan Ridge. Try to access your system from outside, once you witness the black screen on wake. I guess you won't be able. The PC should not randomly wake anyway.

You are also invited to further improve related SSDTs if necessary.

Just disable sleep and only enable monitor sleep.

Also are you using WhateverGreen + Lilu?
