hi

I followed the guide as close as possible in post #1

10.13.6 installed. Created the clover usb and 10.13.6 installer and it worked.

- clover rehabmans version.

- disk setup with 2 partitions, 1 for clover efi 1gb, and 1 for 10.13.6 hfs+ journaled encrypted

- before that installed clover direct to 1 disk 1 partition setup but it didnt boot up, and didnt work, unless using the usb clover to boot.

POST install 10.13.6

copied all the files from usb clover efi to hd parition clover efi - so now able to boot

- solved it by installed clover to its own partition 1gb, and 10.13.6 onto its own partition

- before the above solution, installed clover from 10.13.6 desktop to the hd partition clover efi (fat) and every reboot the clover settings arguements switches etc would be lost.

no networking - wifi 4352HMB or lan - so no internet access

whats next? please. thanks

This guide has moved to the Mojave Laptop Guides forum:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...book-zbook-using-clover-uefi-hotpatch.261719/

If you're installing 10.13.x, read the guide there, but reply with issues here.
For 10.14 issues, please reply at the guide thread in the Mojave forum.

I have re-read both the install guide and post-installation section - am i missing something about (post #2)?

Post Installation

Install Clover UEFI as described in the guide linked by the previous section (post #2). After installing Clover, and configuring it correctly (config.plist, kexts, etc, just as you did for USB) you should be able to boot from the HDD/SSD. The configuration at this point should be exactly the same as USB. Don't forget both HFSPlus.efi and HPFanReset.efi.

But there are still many issues and devices that won't work correctly. For that, we need to implement power management, configure ACPI, provide a proper config.plist, and install the kexts that are required.

Since you have RealtekRTL8111.kext/IntelMausiEthernet.kext already injected by Clover, you should have internet access simply by using an Ethernet cable to your router. Plug it in and make sure you have internet access before continuing. Or if you're using WiFi, you can connect to your WiFi router before continuing.

Installation of the tools and patching is easy provided the scripts and tools at the ProBook repository: https://github.com/RehabMan/HP-ProBook-4x30s-DSDT-Patch

Clover should be installed to the ESP.

- before the above solution, installed clover from 10.13.6 desktop to the hd partition clover efi (fat) and every reboot the clover settings arguements switches etc would be lost.

Switches and settings you change in the Clover GUI are temporary, only in effect for that boot.

You failed to attach any PR files.
Read post #1, "Problem Reporting".

Actually, I just merged branch 'applealc' into 'master' (the old master branch is available in branch 'archive').
If I'm already on "appleacl" branch (re-installed 10.13.6 a week ago), should I switch to "master" and update ACPI and config.plist as well? Or they're merged into "master" without any changes and I can leave them intact on my working 4530s?

applealc branch is gone. master now uses AppleALC.kext.
Suggest you use latest master.

I will have to test it here. No time at the moment. Maybe next week sometime.
ok, i'll wait :)
Also i'll try EC reset - maybe it will help..

Thanks!

The bootup works can boot to desktop. can delete the now unused clover efi partition
Clover should be installed to the ESP.

I copied over the files from the usb clover - boots to desktop
before doing above fix, it reboots after the filevault password is entered.

no wifi/no lan, so no internet connection, the pr tool needs access to internet.
