Quicklook Doesn't Preview jpgs, mp3 nor mp4.

I think there is an amd rx issue at play. I enabled the igpu set peg as primary and things seem to work but my rx 570 shows 300mhz clock speed instead of 1340mhz, under Mojave.

Here's my latest status with my RX580 8MB:
1. JPG do not work. I put the card in as "plug and play" - all comes up and runs fine (as far as I can tell).
2. Clover's No Sign - every now and then I when I boot, I get this No Sign (circle with stripe through it). either 2-3 resets and it goes away. I believe this is also related to the RX580 as I did not have it at all prior, and first boot with the RX580 and the "No's" are back.
3. Long delays/hangs when doing a fresh install..... For reasons I care not discuss, I had to reinstall from scratch, which I could not do at all (10.13.5 or 10.14) until I removed my RX580.

I'm a noob...so glad to help and learn where I can.

Verry strange. I got The same with my rx560. Using The Intel one everything works. Are u using whatevergreen ? And what kind of smbios ?

I tried WEG and it did change anything. I'm just using IGPU as co processor; my monitor is connected to rx 570, which is set as primary. In this setup I lost hardware decoding/playback of hevc h.265 files, which worked with just the rx570.

How do yo test if there is any hardware encoding ? I would like to check that

In other threats i see @Pavo helping people with a AMD card. So i hope he knows why quick look is not working (not showing jpg files) and knows what to do to get our AMD cards working on Mojave.

There is a 4k Sony file (Sony Camp 4K Demo.mp4) that you test with quicktime or with quicklook and if it doesn't skip and cpu utilization isn't maxed all the time (using intel power gadget) then it works also there is a activity monitor information you can check as well. All the info is in this thread Radeon RX 4XX/5XX standalone system, AMDRadeonX4250.kext (GVA support H264) does not support HEVC HW

The issue has something to do with SMBIOS data, haven't narrowed it completely down yet but I was using a MacPro6,1 and now iMacPro 1,1 SMBIOS and everything is working fine. Still looking into what SMBIOS data is messing things up, possibly firmware features, firmware feature masks, Platform feature.

i thought so. also strange: with 10.13.6 i use the rx560 with a 18,3 smbios but with a 14,2 board id. i use this also for mojave.
in this way i dont have black screens at booting. i am using no kexts like lilu and whatevergreen. i will try to experiment with another smbios to see if that helps. if you find out what is wrong i would really appreciate if you can start a topic about it or post it here.

Pulse RX580 10.14 Beta 3. Quicklook works with docs, pdfs and jpg. Preview only works with docs and pdfs and hangs with jpg.

and what kind of smbios u are using ? and any additionel kexts ?
